So I went to Marshalls today looking for a new tie for an upcoming wedding. I walked out with two CK and one Michael Kors ties for a grand total of $30.00! Really impressed with the selection of name brands. Check it out if you have in your area.

It's a crapshoot, though. Some days you find gold. some days nothing.

I'm a huge fan of Marshalls and I think I've purchased 95%+ of my ties from them.
Marshalls, TJ Maxx and Ross are da bomb for all sorts of things. Some location are better than others. Can really find lots of nicely priced items. Have to be careful with some of the clothes they sell....sometimes the irregulars are too irregular.
Great place to find electronic nick nacks like HDMI cables....6" can be had for $8.

Also, remember that some of the stuff there is indeed remaindered/left over from merchandisers/etc., and some is purposely made to be sold at discount stores. The first is high quality stuff at a low price, the second is low quality stuff at a low price.
One of my customers imports menswear, and they're up front in admitting that the stuff you find at TJMAxx/Marshalls/etc under their name isn't the same as the stuff you find at regular merchandisers. Cheaper fabric, less effort in putting the garment together, stuff like that.

I've got a cat named Beefeater and a dog named Beefeater, and two goldfish called Beefeater and Beefeater. There's Beefeater my hamster and Beefeater my horse, and my piglet, known as Beefeater of course.

Thanks for the reminder! I've been looking for some new ties but spending 30 bucks per tie just isn't happening right now. I'll have to check out Marshall's when I get a chance!
Buying a whole bunch of inexpensive ties can be a false economy, if you get a bunch of stuff that's "on sale for a reason", if you catch my drift.
The appearance on the front is more important than the name on the back ... make sure you get a good-looking tie, and if it happens to be from a maker who makes quality, so much the better.
Example: Personally, I'm a bit underwhelmed by this tie ...
... by Drake's of London. The cost? £95.00
Now, for ten bucks at cheap-neckties.com I can get this tie which, IMHO, is significantly better looking. (COuld I get a similar and much better made tie at Drake's? No doubt. But ... everyone puts out clunkers, and they usually are the ones you find on the bargoon rack.![]()

A lot of the thoughts expressed in this thread is true. With these bargain stores mentioned it can be a crapshoot or you can find something really nice. Heres what I've found to be true, when these stores are located in areas surrounded be quality good paying jobs or in metropolitan areas the pickings will be good. But usually in areas without these factors well as stated it's a crapshoot.
