    I have a Polo 8 2band, its very nice.

I would not however buy any Simpson site unseen as there is to much variation of knot from brush to brush at least with the Duke 3 and Chubby 2 I had in best.
By variation I mean Some dense some not, loft heights all over the place, etc.

I doubt I'll get another Simpson but if I did it would be a Chubby 2 or 3 2band.

I have not had a desire for another brush though in almost 1 year

Where did you hear this? Clearly this is a case of YMMV, as all my brushes (8 2banders) are bulb and all I do is face lather

I heard this from the wise brush guys in here, when I was a rookie brushaholic & B&B member 8-10 months ago.
Also Bernd from Shavemac gave me that advice as well as the guys at www.shaving101.com ...... YMMV, as I can see it does (and mine too after I tested my Duke 3 2-Bander with bulby knot shape)

This does beg the question as to how the Germans seem to get more consistent brush characteristics than the English. I've probably gone through 3 dozen Simpson brushes to arrive at the 6 I use regularly. That simply hasn't been the case with my Thaters & Shavemacs. It's not that I love every one I pick up, but they do seem to achieve greater uniformity within a specific model.

I've had Thater 2-band bulb in my sights for weeks. Thankfully royalshave did not have it in stock, and maybe I can shake it off before they do. Not sure if a Shavemac is soft enough for me anymore.

I've been feeling like an old woman myself lately. The Shavemac Silvertip 3 band bulb will kiss you like your high school girlfriend.

Have you tried a Savile Row Silvertip, Vlad? Great density, super soft tips and a nice bulb shape.

I had a super sized one. Loft was a bit high, though. Same thing with a Shavemac XXL. I've got awesome brushes...why can't I stop from lusting after others?

The 3824 is just right for loft (54 mm, I think).
