  1. Default Should I purchase a Mitchell or SBL briefcase?

I currently own a large SBL thin briefcase. I have had it for about a year and a half but since migrating to an iPad for travel purposes, no longer have a need for the space that the large case offers. I am looking at downsizing and am debating between the medium SBL classic briefcase and the Mitchell Leather compact briefcase. I own the SBL briefcase, iPad case and junior portfolio and can attest to the quality of their products. I also own a Mitchell leather wallet and phone case and know they are also quality products that will give me many years of use. Does anyone have exposure to the Mitchell briefcase and can offer their thoughts? Through online pictures of the Mitchell products they do appear to have more pockets than the SBL, but also a higher price tag to the tune of 300.00. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I own the SBL large briefcase, and would sell it and get a Mitchell's if I could. The only thing that concerns me about the Mitchell's is that it is so nice, I would scare me having the case scratched

My thoughts are that you won't go wrong with either. Get whichever you like best.

Where can you get a compact Mitchell for $300? I have a Classic if you want some pictures of it.

I take it to mean $300 more than the Saddleback.

I also have the SBL thin briefcase and love it, but it's a bit more informal than the Mitchell to me. I like that bit of informalness (is that a word?), but it depends on what you're after.

I've got a large thin Saddleback case and absolutely love it, but damn that Mitchell is a nice bag. It's a good thing I've already paid for the Saddleback, otherwise I might consider selling a kidney for the Mitchell.

    Cheers!

Of the two, I prefer Mitchell. I've been in the market for a custom briefcase and have narrowed my choices to Mitchell, Lotuff and Frank Clegg.

Mitchell Products are definitely a luxury item. I have 2 briefcases (3 if you count one that was randomly stolen) and enjoyed the character that comes with each one. I've never owned a SBL but considered it before going mitchell.

I won't lie, the bags look great new, but they also look great with scuffs and marks on them. I was brushing moisturizer on my briefcase until Dave mentioned that I just let it take the scratches for the weathered look. You can also chose your leathers (some may be additional) and customize your briefcase/bag for whatever you need as Dave makes them by hand.

you may also want to consider the smaller Mitchell Exec Document Case with Handles. It's much smaller than the full sized briefcase and simplified (from the description). It's also cheaper. I'm consdering it myself.
