Wow... I must say you showed amazing calm under pressure protecting your home (all that training pays off eh??).
Glad your family is safe and that you have avoided getting sucked into the legal system! Enjoy a well earned drink.

Highland Park 12 is by far the best Scotch in its price range IMHO. It's won plenty of awards in the past and won Best Island 12 and Under in this years World Whisky Awards. I'll go from one brand to another as I finish bottles of various scotch, as I like to try different ones, but there is ALWAYS a bottle of HP12 in my cabinet.
Currently I have a couple bottles of Macallan 18, a bottle of Knappogue Castle 12 (Irish Single Malt), Yamazaki 12 (Japanese single malt), and a bottle of HP12.
Cheers,
Bob

I'm into my singles too, and man, you've earned a dram of the best of them !
IF you want something that will knock your socks off and leave you thinking...who lit that fire in my nose. Try Laphroaig, it's an acquired taste, even for scotch lovers haha
it's one of the few that I'll put a little water into ( a few drops ) as it changes it significantly.
Converted to straights...that didn't take long at all...
Johnnie Walker Green...I find it much smoother than the Gold or Blue. Go figure. YMMV with scotches as well.
I hope things work out well. Great choice in scotch.

thoughts appreciated on the Glenlivet.
I'm a fan of the Glenfiddich 15 yr. The 12 ain't bad either.

Just had my first taste of the macallan 10 yr and I have to say that I am fan.
The Macallan is nasty. All I taste is the sulfur candles they use on their barrels. Glenmorangie is one of my favorites. Definitely a light scotch, ala the gin stills they use. Also a big fan of Oban! :)
