  1. Default Are the Semogue 620 and 610 the same brush?

I know that one has banded hair and the other is not but is there any other difference between them? I am looking into getting a new boar brush, I was going to get a 620 but then I saw the 610 and I like the natural boar hair look better. If anyone has tried both I would like to know if they feel and act the same or if they are a totally different brush.

610: Best quality bristles, 90% tops

620: Extra quality bristles, 75% tops

The 610 has higher quality hair and better face feel due to the 90% tops. Both have the same knot diameter and loft dimensions.

They are different. Even though the 610 has the premium tops, I find the 620 less scritchy and it also has better backbone.
You could always get both. If you have to pick one, I say go for the 620.

I think the 830 & 1305 are the only ones with "premium" quality hair. 610 is "best". 620 is "extra".

I stand corrected. The 610 has the Best 90% tops and not the Premium 90% tops.

There are so many similar brushes that I can't keep them straight. I just always go to the vintage scent site to read the descriptions. ;)

"Are the Semogue 620 and 610 the same brush?"

No, not quite. The 610 has Best 90% tops, while the 620 has Extra 75%.

The 610 bristle is better, IMHO. Also, it has 90% tops against 75%, which means that 90% of the bristles are of full length, providing a feeling of a more compact and harmonized knot.
    Best regards

The 610 is probably my favorite brush. I have two much more expensive LE brushes that come close; a Semogue 2011 FB1 and the 2010 LE Simpson Eagle G3 in Best Badger. I almost exclusively face lather soaps, and this is where the 610 shines. It is the brush I would recommend for anyone who says they find it hard to lather MWF.

I got a 610 a few weeks ago. I was amazed at how easily it makes lather on hard soaps - Tabac, Arlington, Pen's BB, La Toja. And it did a great job creating lather in my scuttle from a dab of Proraso. In fact, that lather almost overflowed the scuttle. My only quibble so far is that it needed to be loaded on most of the soaps for a third pass. It's possible as I learn its attributes more I will get the loading right the first time.

I should add, the face feel from this brush is great!

I have a 620 and it also dominates hard soaps. Really great for MWF, DR Harris, etc. Also works great with creams/soft soaps too. Just a great brush all around. Don't think you would be loosing with either one.

Yep, I think Søren's comparison threads are usually the best place to go for this sort of information (besides Leon's advice, of course).

I'm with Søren on this one.I give the slight edge to the 620, but they are both great brushes.
