Default Nib Acquisitions for July 2012

Let's see what members can find this month . . .
Le Tour de France, Bastille Day, maybe a French pen? Or yellow.
Patriotic colors of red, white, and blue?

I have a number of Organic Ink (Organ Ink? Organics Ink? I'm a bit puzzled by the name still) colors coming my way hopefully tomorrow or Tuesday. I also have the Limited Edition Rohrer & Klingner ink, three Stipula ink samples, and some empty ink bottles for use with Pharmacist's iron gall inks on their way from Goulet Pens.

I just added my name to the waiting for pharmacist's fancy I-G inks. Gonna be a long few weeks waiting for the shipment.

Today I got a parcel from Todd @ isellpens. It included two of the new demonstrator Konrads and a blue granite Taccia Overture. The clear Konrads look awesome and the Taccia is nicer than expected.

I have a Taccia Overture, it's a fantastic pen...but. Check where the clip penetrates the wall of the lid, mine had a large gap that caused the pen to dry up in a few hours. A few drops of epoxy fixed the problem. It's by far the best FP for the dollar that I have.

Yes, 14K. I will be ordering a new sac. The nipple diameter is .256 (6.5mm). Will the sac size be #14 or #15?

I'd say bigger, #16 off the top of my head, at least #15. Sacs are measured in 64ths of an inch (outside diameter). It's a button filler?

I am still enjoying the LAMY Safari (shiny black) that my SWMBO got me last month that I purchased the LAMY Safari (shiny lime green). I am loving the LAMY. I love the shiny lime green. It writes great.

These have been waiting for me at the post office for a week while I was away.

The Lady Ringtop is in great condition, just needs a new ink sac and a bit of cleaning.

The Big Red, needs some work.

The listing said it had a new ink sac, clearly it did not as when I unscrewed the section, the ink sac and pressure bar came out. It is a huge ink sac!
The barrel threads have small cracks, and you can see a piece that cam off in the picture. I hope they are stable now. The clip and cap band show some wear to the gold plating, but not horrible. Not sure if that pressure bar is usable, guess it is time to go look for the ink sacs and a new pressure bar.

I thought I was done with aquiring FP's, but I'm a sucker for a Sheaffer. Purchased from one of our fine members here on the BST.

This evening the Mrs. and I were strolling around downtown Fort Worth. We hit the Barnes & Nobles store and happened to find Piccadilly journals and notepads on clearance. I scored three "leather like", 200 page, 100 gsm, lined journals for under $7/ea.

I just received a "Crown" brand flighter from Brazil via a form exchange student that we hosted. I am very pleased with how it writes.

I am waiting for a vintage Parker Vacumatic...

My shipment from Belgium arrived yseterday. Inclosed were five of FPNer pharmacist's homemade iron gall inks. These are his "fancy" colored inks and they look fantastic. I gave each of them a quick line or two with a dip pen last night. Very nice ink. I will post pics when I have time.

Two bottles of Noodlers Manhattan Blue from Art Brown. I love this colour a lot.
