I took receipt of some new equipment this week. Just wanted to share. Sorry about the poor photographs.

Thanks. Yeah, it just so happened my scuttle came 2 days before my new Tradere. I feel really spoiled right now.

I was so keen on one of those DB scuttles...but the postage to Australia is close to the cost of the scuttle itself.

They're a damn fine looking bit of kit though !
Converted to straights...that didn't take long at all...

Really nice! Your all set up there.
I've been dying to try that razor since I saw it. Maybe one day. Although I rather like light in weight razors (am I the only one?).
    Enjoy!

    Great looking acquisitions!

Is that DB a 1.5? If so, can I ask for a pic of it by the G5? My 1.5 took up took much counterspace and had to "move on", so am starting to look for something smaller.

Beautiful stuff. Did the G5 have an accident or did research show the DB as more desirable?

The scuttle is nice for weekends when you have the luxury of taking the time for a good old hot lather shave. Nothing like it. Especially with a great smelling soap. I love my scuttle loaded with Tabac and hot water. The smell is as great as the feel of the hot lather. You're going to like that Tradere, too. I tell everyone Tradere is the Porsche Cayman of safety razors. its not just beautiful, its a truly efficient tool and a work of art. Congrats.

It is just an original DB, not a 1.5. I gave the G5 to my brother so I am sorry I cannot do a side by side comparison but I can assure you, the original DB and G5 take up almost the same counter space, the the DB seems to be a bit taller and have a far larger water reservoir.

Fortunately, the G5 did not have an accident- I gave it to my brother. The heat retention is superior on the DB and the aesthetics of the DB are more appealing to my eye as well.

Beautiful scuttle! Is the top bowl removable, or is it all one fixed piece? I can't seem to tell from the website.

DB's are one piece; just pour the water into the spout opening to fill.
