My Tradere OC is my favorite razor, and the Tradere handle is my favorite safety razor handle, so I bought a handle alone also. I like for the center of gravity to be down in the handle, and I like for the tip of my small finger to rest on the end of the handle, so the length and weight of this handle is perfect for my hand and the heads I use. The idea of a lighter and shorter handle doesn't thrill me. I will buy the SB, but I would prefer to buy a head assembly for the current handle, and hope Tradere will remember that "ideal" weight distribution only exists in one place, and that's in the mind of each individual user. It is a purely subjective evaluation. The popularity of bulldog handles right now is proof of that. I would have preferred they offer a "bulldog" version of their handle alongside the current version, and let the market decide what it wants.

Only question I have left is on the numbering.. with the SB heads be numbered from 1 on up, or will they start where the OC heads left off? Cause if it's 1 on up, I'd pay a lil extra to get the SB head with the same number as my OC head!

I got the open comb, and while the case is nice, there is certainly nothing classy about it. I consider it far too large for the razor. It could probably have been 1/4 the size and still been large enough for the razor. My idea of a nice case would be one large enough to protect the razor and still fit into a large travel kit. The current case IMHOP exceeds those requirements.

    Make it small and simple.

It is fairly large. When I travel I use it for my OC my wife's ladies Gillette and my shavette.

It sounds as if the SB numbering is going to start where the OC numbering ended.

Will just the safety bar head be available to those who pre-purchased the handle, then the OC head separately?

After the slant head comes out, I wonder if Richard will offer all three in a set.

It would be insane if we could buy the heads only. The case that the OC came with could certainly house a handle and all three heads easily.

I sked Richard this question, and he said end of August he will be offering the SB with, or without handle on their site.

I am conflicted. I would like to simply order the head, but I think the razor could benefit from the slightly smaller handle as well. I appreciate that the testers have tried both and consider the change worthwhile.

I'd love to have a combo set with all three heads and a single handle. Barring that, I'm in for the slant when it comes out.

I love the idea of the combo set.

Additionally, you could always make your own case for your razor: http://www.specialtybottle.com/tinre...y37hinged.aspx

I found this site through an altoid tin repurposing community when I was researching making a travel case for my DE89. One of these steel boxes with some foam and spray adhesive should make for a perfect presentation.

Although, I agree it's not the same as getting one with the company name on it...
