The brush was in the mail box when I got up tonight. My first impressions of the brush are that it's beautifully constructed. The head of the brush was very full and plush, it felt great on my hand when I tested it. The handle seemed quite easy to grip from many angels. I let the brush soak in warm water for 15min then washed it with shampoo, and conditioner. This is my first horse hair brush, and am impressed with how soft, yet firm the brush is right out of the box. There was not a strong sent to the hair, however after letting it soak the bathroom smelled very much like horse. I will get my first shave with it tomorrow and update this. Thank you again to BullGoose, so far it looks and feels like a great brush. You have earned yourself a new customer.

I am glad to hear that you like the brush. I look forward to the update after you have a chance to use it a few times.

For everyone that didn't win this sweet contest you may want to check out the Vie-Long badger/horse beehive brush from BullGoose. I believe it is a BG exclusive. I used mine for the first time today and loved it! It has a nice thick knot and is packed tightly. If it shed at all today it wasn't noticeable in the sink. It had a slight horsey smell to it but 10 minutes in my mug with warm water and a little Johnson's baby shampoo rinsed it away.

It holds a ton of lather (and I am still getting back my lathering groove) and felt really good on my face. It feels nice and firm but not super scrubby but YMMV. The beehive handle appears to be the same as this one but in ivory instead of butterscotch I really liked the feel of it. Excited to use it again tomorrow!

Just to report back. I'm loving the brush so far. Makes the best foam, and has a touch of roughness as you lather it on. Great to exfoliate the skin wail your shaving, and get the whiskers all at attention. The brush has a nice full head at 25mm, and I now prefer it over my 22mm badger. The sent on the brush was gone by my second shave, that seems to be about normal, give or take a few shaves. And I have not lost any more hairs from the brush. The beehive handle designee is easy to hold at any angel. At this point I would say I prefer it to my Simpson Colonel X2L, or my Omega synthetic.

    Thanks again to BullGoose
