I am very recently missing a super nice copper Esterbrook that Rickboone1 gave me a few months ago. It's my favorite FP (I have about 8 or so). I can't find it. I'm sad. I'm mad.

It's somewhere in my house though, I know that. We're in the process of moving so hopefully it will turn up.

I lost my favorite Maroon Parker Duo Fold at a conference in Seattle years ago. We were taking a break and I mistakenly left my pen on the table. When I got back I could not find it. I looked everywhere and the only thing I could think of was that it was lifted from the table. Unfortunately, the folks sitting by did not see anything. I should have questioned all 500 participants.

I lost my Lamy Safari a few weeks ago, and I thought it was lost forever. It was in my Arc planner pen holder and must have slipped out. I loved the pen, and was upset that it was gone, and the italic nib in it. I had contacted isellpens to look at getting a replacement this week. I haven't driven one of our cars for awhile and was getting something out of the back seat when I spotted it on the floor. It was a grand reunion, just picture this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2C8q...eature=related, just substitute Turk for my pen!!

Not a FP, but decades ago I sprung for one of those Hallmark wood-barreled pen and pencil sets. Lost the pen. Gone for years. Found it in the breast pocket of a suit I hardly wore. Great reunion only to lose it when working at a client's site (lifted most likely).

Note to self: never, never take pens you have an attachment to to work.

I 'lost' a gold Sheaffer White Dot fountain pen with a medium gold nib. It was a great pen, much used and well treated. It was stolen.

When I was in college, I had a (relatively) cheap Parker fountain pen. I used it constantly & the nib had worn so that you had to hold it exactly how I held it for it to write... a friend 'borrowed' it off my desk, decided it didn't work & threw it out while I stepped out.

I haven't bought a new fp since. I just haven't found one I liked... I might have to get one again at some point.

Not much, I just haven't really looked around at what's available in my price range.

I had a MontBlanc Legrand Traveler and had the nib adjusted, then it promptly dissapeared.

My father was given a pocket-watch as a graduation present by his father way back when in the 60s sometime. I doubt it was "the Rolex of pocket watches" but it would have been expensive for their socio-economic status.

The watch was stolen by a fellow grad student in a semi-private part of the university library during my father's time in grad school. He has related this story several times, and as a result I am generally pretty careful not to leave "invitations to borrow" anything halfways worthwhile, including pens.

Be there or be square. Only I can do both!

I lost my one and only nice FP, a Parker 51, sometime between undergrad and grad school. I keep hoping it's hiding somewhere in a closet in my parents' home. Since 1986 or so.

I lost my Kaweco a while ago, sort of drove me nuts. It was a $25 pen so I wasn't panicked but it's the one I carry with me every day so I wasn't happy about it.

I ended up finding it though after maybe a week, so I'm not sure if this tragic tale belongs here. The pangs of loss for that week were real though

    This is so true.

I'm currently flipping out because I just moved from the UK back to the US and can't find my Kaweco Sport, Platinum Sapporo, Pilot Vanishing Point, and Pelikan M215. The Kaweco isn't a big deal, but the other three are my favorite pens. I thought I had them in my carry-on bag, along with my 2 custom Shavemac brushes. Hopefully, they'll turn up eventually after I finish moving everything from TN to the west coast.

    -Andy

Update: In the last box that showed up in the US, I found all the above pens inside another box. I have no idea what I was thinking when I packed that box. It was late at night, and I just wanted to be done packing is all I can figure. Anyway, pens found!

Reaching for a small box on a shelf at work I fumbled it a bit and in much scramble I noticed weight in my hand left.... I dropped my Jinhao 500 although easily replaced and cheap it was my favourite and first FP I really liked, it landed directly on the nib and the tip took the brunt its gone for good

But luckily eBay can make for a speedy replacement... glad I take the cheap pens to work... which is an easy decision when you only have cheap pens , it will serve as a lesson to keep in mind once I spring for the Monteverde I want and whether to keep it at home
