Default UFO Razor Handle by Rafael

Hope all is well with U and families. Just wanted to share some photos of my latest acquisition...the beautiful all stainless UFO Handle by Rafael. Rafael is an excellent craftsman from Spain. He is a good friend of B&B member (Dr.Dulcamara). Enclosed is pic heavy pictures with the UFO handle by itself & the UFO handle withe the EJ89L head & several pictures with the UFO handle next to Weber DLC and R41 just to show the handles size and thickness. This is a very hefty handle. I dont have a digital scale but it is noticeably heavier than the Weber Bulldog handle. Enjoy the pics.

Sweet handle Warhawk. Any issues with metric versus English threads?

    Beautiful.

Too fat, perhaps? Too heavy, perhaps?

    But gorgeous.

    Exactly my thoughts.

I was oogling these again last night and was considering finding a way to order one. But seeing it with a head I know and love makes me wonder if I would find it to be a bit too fat. They are wonderful pieces of craftsmanship, though.

I am checking the vendor/hobbyist page several times a day hoping to see when these pop up.

Glad that U liked Rafael's UFO handle pictures. The pictures do not give justice to how it looks in person. Rafael is definitely a fine craftsman. I paid 60 EUROS. I was fortunate to get this through my communication with B&B member (Dr. Dulcamara). Remember when he posted pics of these UFO handles last May?

The UFO handle fits perfect on my EJ89L, Weber, and R41 heads. Yes... the handles are definitely fat and chunky but in a good way. It's like going from a FORD 150 to a FORD 350 if I had to make a comparison. I haven't tried it out yet because I am currently experimenting with the Cobra Classic Tour razor.

All in all... life is wayyyyy to short so I had to purchase this beauty because I already missed out on the BRW handle with Bob's passing. May he RIP. So... when the opportunity presented itself...I had to get this handle. All I gotta say is that I am one happy camper.

I agree. Milo is the seller. I've only done a special assistance Rafael and Warhawk. I have no commercial interest in this. Rafael is my friend.
    Kind Regards, Dr Dulcamara.

weren't they supposed to be available by now: UFO in VENDOR THREAD and it was 2 months ago, as they were being shown months ago HERE

just of of curiosity, who is actually selling the handles, is it Rafael or Milo? is it a one man shop, thru milogiachez or another B&B vendor or is it someone outside of B&B? who is this Rafael, he's more mysterious then ordering a M&F brush through Lee.

    Sorry, but I'm lost

I may be wrong but it is a one many show, he is a forum member on a spanish forum and doesnt speak english, but since we have spanish members here, who also post over there, there has been some go betweens in getting these to us here, at first rafeal was not going to send them over but once the pictures started to show up and the intrest grew so high the inbetweens were able to work things out on behalf of our members, warhark and Dr. Dulcamra can probably correct me if i am wrong

Got it...thanks Syngent. That would make sense.

i love the fact that the knobs look interchangeable "a la BRW" and hopefully they are as customizable too, with the option of different lengths etc.

    Gentlemen, and especially brucered.

Please do not have suspicions. Everything is made out of B&B. I think not having breached any rules. If so, sorry and I apologize.

I simply helped Rafael and Warhawk to contact. By email. Rafael is my friend and do not speak English. It has very little time, since their work is another. I did not win anything and I have no commercial interest. Lend my time and help two people. Rafael sells directly the handles. He has its humble web www.uforazorhandles.com
Rafael has sent two handles to UK, with my help, without so much suspicion by anyone. People in general are very grateful. Rafael think everyday all of you and Milo will have handles for sale when available. The Warhawk handle is a prototype. Very special and very difficult to knurling. Torpedo model.

Tomorrow I will help Rafael to register in B&B, as a humble member, and he will post to you directly. Unfortunately he does not speak English. Also he is not very good with technology, but with metals is a Master.

He has said he wants to join the Brotherhood of the Open Comb. Do not know if he will be accepted. But he would like it that way.
    Kind Regards, Dr Dulcamara.
    BOTOC humble brother.

From what I understand Rafael is merely a hobbyist, and not looking to manufacture these on a large scale due to the fact that he has an established carreer in another field. That explains the high price compared to a BRW, which is the most fair and accurate comparison in terms of craftsmanship.

While I really love Rafael's work (I've perused both the thread here on B&B and on the Spanish forum), it doesn't seem likely that he'll be able to fill the overwhelming demand for handcrafted handles of this caliber. Very sad indeed, I hope there's someone that can in the near future.

As to the handle in particular shown by warhawk, I do agree it is a bit fat, but it's undeniable that it is beautifully crafted.
