Nakayama Kiita

This is a difficult subject.

I usually prefer to use a Tomo Nagura that's softer than, or equally hard as, (not harder than) the Awase.

But - it's my feeling that testing with different Tomo Nagura is the only way to find nirvana.

Here is a photo of one of my favorite Nakayama kiita stones, it's a smaller one but very sweet.

I just had an amazing shave off my Kiita edge. Probably my smoothest shave ever, and left less stubble on my WTG pass than any edge I've gotten previously. Kinda in shock right now. The thing is, too, I had a weeks' growth and was super lazy on prep, all I did was slather some J.M. frasers on my face with my hand, no shower, towel, etc.

This was after only one round with my tomonagura too, the edge before was from oozuku+slurry. I diluted to water from a thin slurry and wasn't expecting much of an improvement.. woah.

I notice, with mine, that there is zero feeling of keeness when shaving.
