heads up!

Free Shipping on orders over $25
Right, but the prices on a number of items seem to have gone up to compensate. So it's good for small orders, disadvantageous for larger ones.
Agreed...Connaughts prices are MUCH lower on comparable items.

Royal Shave has some products that are unique. I ordered Klar Kabinett shave soap. I believe that they are the only vendor in the US who carries Klar products. They also have a great price (and sale going on) for Dr. Ditmar soaps.

I looked and noticed something I purchased from them a few weeks ago was $7.95 then...now it's $9.95. Take from that what you'd like.

I used royal shave to get started and got great service. I will be returning to them for some of their more unique items they supply. The lower cost to achieve free shipping will only encourage me to return for those items sooner rather than later. Simple solution on other items is to weigh the service to cost value.

I compared the price of Speick aftershave. Connaught's was over $5.00 cheaper then these guys. That's on ONE item. That kind of evens out the free shipping.

The whole point is that Royal Shave has many products that aren't available other places, including Connaught. What you're saying is only relevant if you're buying something that Connaught does have.
I've bought from both in the past month, so I'm not talking out of my butt here.

I bought 4 Harris a/s splashes 2 weeks ago (they were $29.95 less B&B discount...worked out to just over $25 apiece). They're $39.95 now. Now, I don't know if this is a permanant spike or not, and I'm not trying to pile on, but exercising a little caution is my 2 cents.

They also finally got Calani soaps back in stock!
I have never had a bad shave using the Calani soaps, period

I have made several purchases from them this month.
I just compared prices and they have gone up about a dollar on many of their low dollar items. I mean 2.95 for a tin blade bank when other vendors have them for 1.00...come on...2.50 for Astra blades, 3.79 for DE KAI blades...and on and on...and you have to buy 25.00 worth to get free shipping. Just compare to prices at West Coast Shaving..........( No Connection with them)
I liked it better when the prices were lower and a higher purchase price was required for free shipping. I bet they end up going back to their old pricing. Until then, West Coast shaving and Straight Razor Designs will get their business from me. ( again, no connection with the vendors)

They do not always have the cheapest prices on everything, but they do go out of their way to find products that other vendors will not carry. To me, thats worth more than saving $2-3 on some item in my cart
Everybody carries cella, tabac, etc. But I value their carrying hard to find items, that would otherwise NOT be available or only available directly from the manufacturer
No connection to them, just my 2 cents

Exactly. Brands like Klar, Calani, Mandom, and some of the Portuguese brands aren't really available at other US retailers (or others like Connaught either).

So for mainstream items avoid. For some unpopular or limited supply items, use them. Too bad you pay such a premium for items no one else cares to carry. Seems like catering to a small niche.

Possibly. My guess is that as wet shaving has gained in popularity over the last 10 years or so, and some folks set up online retail shops that there will be a natural process where merchants do choose a particular niche. We all benefit form this diversity.
I usually know where I can pay less and usually go that route, but occasionally will pay slightly extra for a particular service. Today I received 500 grams of Klar Kabinett soap from Royal shave and added in some Gillette 7 o'clock super plats to take advantage of the free shipping. Despite the price increase, I was able to buy this highly touted soap for much less money than if I had ordered it from Germany.
Bullgoose shaving used to carry this soap, but stopped not because of lack of demand, but his shipping costs were so high. For me, if merchants like Royal Shave offer niche products at a much better price than other sources, what's to complain about? Next up for me to try from Royal is Dr. Dittmar's shave soap.

You really feel exploited because someone chose to bring these products to the American market and provide a savings compared to importing them yourself?
Because of this, and the possibility of not being able to offer some of the bigger commercial offerings for as low a price as some higher-volume sellers, you feel somehow "exploited"? Nobody's forcing you to buy all of your stuff from them. I shop from probably a dozen different vendors looking for the best prices, and I've ordered from Royal Shave on several occasions, either because they were the only U.S. vendor for something that would be very expensive to ship from Europe, or because they simply had a better price than anyone else.
If you've got an issue with a vendor, don't just smear them here, take it up with them. Maybe ask them why a certain product is $5 more than their competition. I'm pretty sure you'll get a reasonable answer. Until then, I don't see the point of smearing a well-respected vendor. You're beginning to sound like you have a personal issue with them.
