    Default Dairy free meals

Looking for some good dairy free meal ideas. My daughter is allergic to dairy (eggs too but they are an easier substitute).

    Lactose intolerant? Me too.
You can't go wrong with simple meat and potato type meals.
How severe is the allergy? what kinds of foods does she like?

There are lots of options. I've been Lactose Intolerant my whole life and I remember the days when I didn't have options.

She is 4 and has been allergic since she was born. It's different than being lactose intolerant. If dairy product even touch her she breaks out in a rash and risks going into shock.
She mostly likes bread products which I do not. She is slowly coming around to eating meat. We just seem to eat the same stuff over and over and that is why I was checking to see if anyone had some new ideas for dairy free meals. Or even a resteraunt that has a lot of dairy free options. Dairy seems to be in everything these days.

Have you tried using a substitute like almond milk in your recipes that call for milk?

My daughter is in the same boat, but eggs are OK (even though she won't eat them) We got the beef allergy on top though, I can't even cook beef in the house! The smell is enough!

Worst problems we ever had were at restaurants when traveling. If they were lax on changing the wash water it was a problem. Never needed the epi-pen, zyrtec would shut the allergic reaction down (but has since started causing serious night terrors) Allegra works pretty good, but is not as fast, costs a lot more, only 12 hour, and no night terrors.

If you can check on the egg:
Tyson chicken , nuggets, fries, strips
    Amy's vegan pizza
make your own cheese free pizza with a store bought pizza crust, many are dairy free.

Cooking is easy, soy milk substitutes for cow milk with no other changes

Rice, olive oil, rosemary (a favorite around here)

Do your own cooking and eliminate prepared packaged foods. Your whole family will be better for it. I really hope you don't have food aversion from this as well.

Go Asian! You'll be hard pressed to find any dairy in most Chinese, Thai, or Japanese dishes.

Otherwise, I find it more difficult to think of meals with dairy than without. Your basic meal of protein + starch +vegetable is easily accomplished without dairy.

Pasta with meat or vegetable sauce
Big chopped salad with vinaigrette topped with sliced steak / grilled chicken / broiled shrimp
    Steak/pork/chicken/fish/shrimp + bread/pasta/rice/quinoa/couscous + vegetables of your choice

    The possibilities are endless.

For going out, I'd stick to Asian or health food / vegetarian restaurants that will be accustomed to such requirements.

This is a good point. Eating out at Asian restaurants is generally easier to deal with than anywhere else...gets tiring though.

Concur with Chinese, Thai and Japanese. But bare in mind that Indian cuisine can include dairy products.

Great recommendations. Never thought to look at Chinese and Thai food. Might have to get a cookbook or two and check out a few local restaurants.
