Too big to travel with conveniently, but if you convert your current brush into a traveler, the Kent BK8 is the ultimate cream brush, IMO.

I'm shocked no one mentioned the Semogue 620 yet. It is the ultimate face lathering brush IMO. After I got mine broken in, I've only picked up my other brushes for a slight change and sort of regret it when I do. It's hands down my favorite brush for everything.

Purchased at straight razor designs. Was a bit expensive, but I am selling my Duke 3 to justify the cost.

Thaters in general are exceptionally "bulby" bulbs.

Their 3 bands are very bulby

Their 2 bands are normal bulb, but they also come in fan shape

My current brush is the following model. How will the recommended brushes in this thread compare for cream face lathering? This was my first purchase, which was combined with a 38C, stand and bowl.

No one? I don't want to go backward on quality. I have never used a brush other than the one linked above and have no local shops to check them out.

Never used a Merkur brush. My impression is most of the $ goes into the handle rather than the hair

I can't use metal handles because they just seem heavy to use

I don't think you will go backward on quality. Trying different brushes is the best way to find out what you like.

That is what I thought too about my brush regarding the cost, of course it part of a set when I bought it.

I tried several Merkur DE until I settled on the 38 c Hd for medium agressive .
I currently use a Feather AS-D1 which is mild and still use the 38 c Hd .
Use the set and adjust accordingly .

Semogue 2010 Custom Boar is the ultimate face lathering brush for me for soaps or creams. Next would be the 620 and then the Rooney 3/1.

Although I use mostly soaps, my favorite brushes for face lathering creams are an older Rooney 3/1 Super with a 48mm loft and a Simpson Duke 1.

I have had the set for over two years, but replaced the 38c with a DE89L. I now am planning on an R41 along with a new brush.
