These threads always confuse me. I nailed down MWF's lather right out of the gate. I suspect water hardness is the issue most of the time. Try it with distilled water next time?

It's always been easy as pie for me. Never had any trouble with it. It's confusing that some people do.

They confuse me too - resulting in keeping that MWF on the shelf - but I have tried distilled water & the Fat just won't go good, it is ok but I always flinch when I see the Fat coming up in the progression. Used to buy a new brush, now just wait for the karma

Take a dremel and a wire brush to it, you're bound to load it with enough product like that

I sold my first puck because it was so so for me and as good as cash for other stuff but I soon felt the desire for another try. It is now a staple in my den. Love the scent, performance and the way it leaves the skin soft. Not a "No brainer" soap for many but when you get it figured out it is lovely.

My problem with MWF is getting the lather to last even with 1 minute loading on the puck. I can get stellar rich creamy lather but no matter what brush I use I'm down to thin useless lather after 2 passes and I don't have hard water. Examples of brushes I use Simpson Colonel X2L, Rooney 3/1 Super, 2012 B&B LE, and various Omega/Semogue boars. I love the soap but it gets annoying going back to puck and rebuilding lather after only 2 passes.

Yep. I'd also add that a boar or 2-band brush really helps. Lather worthy of God himself.

I would not give up on MWF as it is a quality soap and rightfully among the top tier of soaps.

If you're still having issues, this video should help:

Mitchell's is one of my all-time favorite soaps out there. If you are not pleased with it, I am sure you can work something out on the B/S/T forum here :)

I sometimes think that the really "easy to lather" soaps create problems because, every soap (yes every soap) has a method that produces the best lather for that soap. Some soaps create subpar lather very easily and people call them easy soaps. But every soap needs a certain method or methods to create its "best" lather. Once you get that down, it is easy. That is how I feel about MWF; once you find your technique it is a matter of swirling the brush on the soap (given the other variables) just like any other. Sure, Product X may allow you to create a useable - if not ideal - lather without any tricks, but who cares. This is why I don't see MWF as a hard to lather soap.

I used MWF this morning. Fantastic soap in my opinion. No matter how many times you have to lather it to get it right, keep trying and you will be happy you did.

Deffo a variance in mileage here.

I've never had a problem with it.

Just put it aside for a while and use things you enjoy. No harm no foul. If you see it as a challenge then put it in the cupboard and try it out every once in a while.

Since you said a "bowl of foam"... did you try face lathering? If you can't do it (like myself), try hand lathering. My last time with MWF the bowl was also pretty much foam, but it was perfect after a little time on the skin. (I also grated my puck, and I think it helped too, FWIW.) Just an idea...
Luis -- not very good at this, so take all I say with a huge grain of salt

MWF is a overhyped soap. Many products are better and easier to create proper lather. My water is soft -- mwf lather was fluffy and thin.

My solution is to add whatever cream is available. MWF also loves water and performance improves with months of continual use.
