    Thumbs up Feather Blades!

So I had my second shave with a feather blade this morning and I am not sure what all the fuss was about, I had a great shave, smooth close and no irritation or nicks / cuts. All in all a great blade, Not the monster some make it out to be.

So I hereby issue a challenge to other noob wet shavers out there, If you are at the point where you can comfortably handle a DE razor and get a good shave without blood loss or irritation then don't be afraid, give feather blades a try!

I agree. I've had more nicks with astras than feathers. Some beards demand a very sharp blade.

I had my first feather experience yesterday and I have to say it was a good one. They are definitely sharper than the other blades I've tried I got a DFS with 3 passes and no touch ups, I can see how they could be unforgiving but IMO being kept on my toes is not a bad thing. I have only been DE shaving for a few months so I am still a beginner and as such I would say to any other newbie to have a go with them. If your prep is good and your technique then your shave will be too.

Feathers have never tried to eat my face either. I don't like them as much as some other blades, but they're not scary.

Feathers do occationally get a bad rap here in the Forum - but usually from less experienced DE shavers.

Keep in mind: YMMV. Your statement is a very common one but newbies are warned against Feathers as they are sharp. That means that they can provide a smooth, effortless shave. However, they can also provide a bloody, painful shave. It's all about the technique and experience of the individual. Again, YMMV. If you can't tell what the fuss is about then you did it correctly. You don't want to find out what the fuss was about.

I honestly don't know why I bother with any other blade. The Feather blade is by far the best blade for my skin/beard. It provides the closest shave with the least amount of nicks and irritation of any other blade I have used.

Nothing like a super sharp blade loaded in ur favorite razor!! Combo that with 4-5 mins of soap softening the whiskers, and it's like hot knife through butta!! :)

I've been at DE shaving for a month or so and I've found Feather blades to be the best, to date. I'm still experimenting with other blades, and for some reason I keep ordering new blades to try.

If there is one thing that I've learned here, it's to use no pressure other than the weight of the razor. I feel that I could use any blade as long as I follow that guideline.

Feather has proven to be the most capable blade. However, even with all the irritation free shaves, and closest shaves, it can bite back hard on a slip-up. Feather's are my daily shaver and I barely do nick myself or have irritation. They cut the fastest and with the least amount of passes. I say it bites back hard, but the thing is, I like that about them. Sharp, just like a blade should be.

+1 also my go to blade. Only get two good shaves, before I start to feel them, but that's about all I get from other blades. I shave to get a good shave, not see how long I can get a blade to last at the expense of my face

This is my issue with Feather lovers. When someone doesn't like them it is often chalked up to inexperience or bad technique. Its a fine blade, its just not the best for everyone, as is the case with all blades. Personally, i prefer Sharks, but if you don't like them thats your choice and I would never say its because you're inexperienced. They're not the holy grail....
