    Default My Puppy

I have a golden retriever named Jackson, and I gotta say this is one of the best breeds out there. He was the easiest dog to train, and is one of the sweetest souls around. He is a purebred with full certification, our friends are breeders and his lines go back 30 years. 11 months old and 110 pounds! His dad was 140 and his mom was 110.....biggest goldens I have ever seen lol.

    Question

    Solo:
Jackson is a very sharp looking Retriever...and only a puppy at that. Since you say Jackson is easy to train...do you think he will make a good 'bird dog' (if you're into hunting)?

Thank you! I think he would be a good candidate for training. Jackson is cooperative, alert, and loves to work. I don't hunt nearly enough for me to have a bird dog. So he's just going to be my frisbee and tennis ball retriever . He did catch his first bird on his own yesterday though.

Great looking dog. Their dogs are WAY heavier than the breed standard, which is 65-75 lbs for adult males.

Oh I know! Average height is around 24 inches, and Jackson is 28 inches tall Apparently they breed giants.

What a good looking dog. They add so much to our lives and ask so little in return.
