    Default Collecting dust :(

Went cold turkey after a heart attack in '06. Despite really missing a nice bowl of Penzance or other worthy leaf, I've not partaken in pipe or cigar since.

    These simply sit now.

What a tragedy! I'm sorry for your loss. I hope you find yourself in better health now. As stated previously, there are plenty of anxious newbies and seasoned veterans that would like to provide great new homes for your pipes at any moment. You have quite the collection. Thank you for sharing.

Ironically a military officer I know asked the same question a few months back and ended up with half dozen 8oz sealed packets of Penzance and a few sealed tins of other sorted leaf. He's reported they aged extremely well... very smooth. Hadn't moved anything since late 2006-early 2007 when I traded off almost 500 sticks of nice cigars. Obviously everything had been in a monitored humidor. Guy who got the cigars had just built a walk in humidor out of a closet in an entertainment room he had just remodeled. Talk about nice... yowser!

I may do this (humidor mod) once I can get the grown kids to stay away for good

Did they tell you if the pipe smoking contributed in any way to the heart attack?

Congrats on kicking your habit. Not sure how you can keep all those pipes around the house and not want to go smoke one, you're a much stronger man than I.

Great collection, thanks for sharing the pics. Think of it as an exhibit in a historical museum, enjoy it for what it was, and be thankful that you're still around to appreciate the display.
