Default Pinaud - oh the burn, the deep, deep burn... it's deep, sooo deep...

    Pardon the movie reference.

However, the question came to mind last night. Is it possible to do a perfect DE shave (perfect beard prep, perfect blade angle, pressure, etc.) and be able to splash on Pinaud Clubman and not feel any burn whatsoever?

If so, I think that would be the measure of a perfect shave. For me personally, I don't think it's possible.

For the real test, try spashing on the Pinaud Clubman Bay Rum instead of the regular stuff. That will tell you, beyond a doubt, just how "perfect" your shave was.

My last few shaves have been burn free with Clubman splash. Finally getting the hang of straight razor shaving.

It can absolutely be done...I use basically all of the Pinaud A/S in my rotation besides my beloved and treasured Floid Blue and they feel great on my face without the burn you describe. A tingle once in a while if the shave has been a bit less than stellar but otherwise quite refreshing and enjoyable on my face.
