Default New Proraso formulations are No. 1

Used Proraso Red this morning, the new formulation with sandalwood oil and shea butter......
....best shave this year to date. Much more luxurious than the older formulation.

    Highly recommended.

Next, I'll be trying the new regular Proraso.

Is the sandalwood only available in the tube? I have not found it in the croap form.

Can anyone comment on the new green formula vs. the old one? I found the old one so-so in terms of lather but great scent and cooling.

The new regular cream has much less menthol and eucalyptus aroma, and is rather dusty/musty. I smelled it in a store, and did not find it pleasant. This was disappointing, since I have very much enjoyed the old formula. I bought Omega cream instead, which performs excellently; it smells like the old Proraso with added pine.

The red is now my go to cream. I'd say i use it a good 3 times a week.

The scent is pure sandalwood, lathers like crazy, post shave feel is top notch, and it's cheap. You can't beat it.

I don't like the scent of the new green vs. the old....On a good note though it did spur me to purchase 2 500g pillows of the old stuff.

When lathered, the scent is almost the same - if anything it's a bit more refined and subtle. I'll be bold and claim that most unsuspecting folks couldn't tell the old and the new version apart when having two ready-to-use brushes loaded with lather.

Exactly the same here, including the two pillows of the old stuff. I may convert to the new one once I've worked my way through that lot and can no longer make a direct comparison.

The new version's performance is excellent, it just doesn't smell right.

Do they also make Proraso Red aftershave balm or only the cream?

I've said this before, but the Red Proraso is one of my favorite soaps/creams. It's lather is amazing and it's smell is out of this world. And for the money, it may be the best cream on the market...IMO.

Can you speak to the difference between the soap and the cream - I've only tried the cream?

I understand from Marco that they are the same formula, but is there a difference in the experience between the soap and the cream? How does one decide which to purchase?

You want softer texture in tube: Buy tube version
You want firmer version in tub/pot: Buy pot version

Only problem is that only the green version is made in both a tub and tube version.....

Even though the new cream is not as mentholated IMHO I always apply proraso pre so I still get the kick.

Performance wise BOTH the red and green new forms are outstanding and significantly more effective.
