    Default New collector, unbelievably overwhelmed

    So I have been collecting for about a month now. Not even sure how I got started. However I can say that my life was changed after I received my first hot shave while on vacation in Nashville last month. So far I have about 20 or so straights. I desire to learn any and everything about each one. Being the severe insomniac that I am, I have plenty of time to do so. But I am having a tough time finding resources. I particularly would like to know the age and value. Not that I plan to to sell them. But it would be useful when justifying my many purchases to my bride. Any help you vets could offer would be gratefully appreciated.

    Folks here are generally happy to help with identification and dating: we like pictures. The wiki can be helpful too. The only way to get a true valuation for something is to sell it, but you can look at past sales as guidelines.

    Surely the value is what you paid, anyway?

    You will forgive us for not giving pricing. In the past people have signed in and on their first post got a free valuation, and then just shoved everything on eBay. Giving nothing back to the community. Now I'm sure that's not what you're doing here, but thought explaining the rule would make it easier.

    I plan on posting pictures on my profile very soon. I don't know if the razors I got are much of anything. But they are somthing to me and I am proud of em. Several people have asked me to post pictures so they could help with dating. Do I post those within the thread? Or is my gallery sufficient?
