Default Just got my slim rhodium----niiicccee

Just got my gillette slim rhodium plated from Above the tie.
Stan is a great guy but the slim is even GREATER.
I haven't had anything in rhodium since i have been wet shaving about only 3 months but this slim is awesome.
You even think it shaves better psychologicaly because it is gorgeous.
It even looked better than in the pictures.
No fooling around at Above the tie, what you see is what you get.
I have also bought a red tip and a gillete super speed (not rhodium though) and were just as awesome.

Looks great, and I bet she gives a great shave. Usually my goto razor. Above the Tie is a really good place. Bought several razors from them and the price was right, and shipping was fast! Overall a good experience. Didn't know they replated razors. How about cases?

Did they repaint the numbers as well and for how much?

I have a Slim that I will get replated if the mechanism still works come that time.
It is truely a great shave. My 49 year old Slim has better plating than my 1 year old Merkur which has had a dark spot developed.
Not sure if this is a water mark or what ever.
I try to set myself second.

I think it was a great deal at 125$ shipped to canada.
I considered the cost to plate a slim in thodium and then also to buy a good slim and then to get it shipped from canada to there and then to get it shipped back.
    You know how it goes.
this was a wam bam thank you mam.
    125 to my door.
They also have a nice fatboy in rhodium but a little too pricy for me.

Nice razor! Thanks for the pictures, I just bought a fatboy on the B/S/T that I was thinking of replating. This may have just pushed me over the edge.

Thanks guys for the kind words.
I wish i had the coin to replate all my razors like this.
Now you do lose that old vintage theme that comes with these razors but when they are shiny like this and look like you just picked them up at the store it feels and looks good.
Would love to have a fatboy in rhodium also.
If i can't get the funds for a rhodium fatboy i will try to replate my vintage fatboy with Dave (otoman) in nickel.
    Heard good reviews with him.

Congrats and it sure looks beautiful. Rhodium sure makes a razor that much more wonderful! You should see what the open-comb Aristocrats look like in rhodium.

I am loving my 40s style Super Speed from Stan and Above the Tie. Great guy to deal with and I am looking forward to getting more razors from him

I purchased a rhodium President from Above the Tie. It is beautiful. Almost too beautiful to shave with. Almost...

That looks great, Ive oogled a few of the razors at above the tie before his prices are reasonable considering the time spent to find a vintage razor in good enough condition to plate, the cleanup before hand and the polish after, for a right now razor ready to go its worth a look for sure
