Tom Ford Grey Vetiver
Why not Speick? SWMBO thinks it very neutral.

Gucci Pour Homme II (I and II are pretty much complete opposites...so make sure you get II)
Its a nice fresh scent with a black tea note that I really like. Always receive compliments when I wear it.
Others have suggested above: Muglar and Gendarme...both very fresh and light. I also like Creed Original Vetiver...although its pretty pricey. Muglar is pretty similar to Creed OV and a quarter of the price.
GO BADGERS! (UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-MADISON)
Agreement on Prada Amber and Prada Infusion d'Homme. Both are soapy and clean. Between the two, I prefer Amber. At least for the time being.
L'occitane vetyver
Trumpers sandalwood.

So I had a chance to smell some of the great recommendations. Had it narrowed down to Mugler or Bvlgari Pour Homme. Was actually thinking of getting them both. Took the LOTH to the mall so she could decide. Big mistake. She liked them but said "they are so subtle I can hardly smell them". My attempts to pursued her were for not. So the quest for a good cologne continues. But I'll probably get one of the two I mentioned; after all she will probably never know.
Try Jazz. It is subtle and light.
That ship has sailed.
DR Harris Arlington is as subtle as they come, but fairly long lasting subtlety on me.
+1 except for the Prada. I have it and love it but I find it more powdery than soapy and would rate it as fairly intense. A few people have commented to me that it smells pretty strong and flowery even thought I only wear a couple sprays.
This is another YMMV thread. I find myself wondering about many of the suggestions, like Curve, CK One, and GFT Sandalwood.. all fairly synthetic and heavy smells to my nose. Then again, just as many will disagree with me as will agree. I think it's important that the OP does some testing and sampling before buying. Good luck, it's a fun ride!
Personally, I like the C. O. Bigelow line. It's not expensive, and they tend to smell pretty natural and fresh to me. Then again, I'm not much of a cologne wearer as it is, but if you haven't tried it, It's pretty great.
Jason:BOTOC, LOBOS, KOTV. Sort of on the fence about burley...
