Default FS: Whipped Dog 20mm silvertip knot

I have a Whipped Dog 20mm silvertip knot that is really nice but just too big. I did a test lather to see how it felt (really soft), but it's otherwise unused.

If you have an 18mm silvertip knot, I'd like to work out a trade. If not, I'll sell it for $10 shipped in the US.

Thanks for the PMs, guys. I think I'm going to hold off selling this, because it might be a shedder. Last night I ran my fingers across the top of the knot, not aggressively by the way, and every other time a few hairs would come out. Tried it again this morning a bunch of times and got the same thing. Is this typical? I have almost no experience with replacement knots.

never had a shedder, but i've only had 1 replacement knot, at TGN. i have a WD on the way, but have never used or seen one.

if it continues, contact Larry @ WD and see what he says...i'm pretty sure he'd take care of it one way or another (new knot or refund etc)

Some knots will shed more until they are set into a handle. TGN knots have a much thicker "puck" at the bottom, but others I've seen have a smaller one. The idea is that you set the knot such that some of the cement/epoxy/RTV will settle on top of the knot's "puck". This will stabilize the hair in the knot and it should not shed. I would not pass judgement on the unset knot as to how much it will shed after it is properly set in the handle. If I had a handle waiting for a knot I would jump on this. I still may if you are still selling it. TGN knots are super-premium and cost a lot more, but that does not mean that a $10 silvertip knot will not make a great brush.

I contacted Larry, and he got back to me ASAP. He said it should subside, but to monitor it and if I weren't happy, he would make it right. A BIG thank you to Larry for his expertise and superb customer service!

Might need to put "sold" on the post so it avoids others from looking and thinking it's still available if you aren't going to sell it. It's under administration in the upper right corner I believe.

    Hope it all works out!

I've got a whipped dog silver tip brush and have been very pleased with it for over a year now. Good luck!
Me to wife (truth!): "Does she really need all these Barbie dolls? You only need two to have a conversation. Why so many?"
Wife, not skipping a beat: "It's kinda like your straight razors..."
