    Default Request: New Button

Hi, I was just wondering if theres any chance we could have a button which would 'Show new replies to your posts'?

I have it on a couple of other forums I visit and find it very handy.
It's much better than looking though a few pages before finding threads you might have commented on or having to go into your profile and click find users posts button.

One simple click and it shows any thread which you have started / commented on which has a new reply, regardless on how old it is. Once you have viewed the thread, regardless of if you reply, that thread will no longer show up in the list until a new unread message is posted.

Unique idea. Thanks for posting about it.
Don't know if something like that is even possible here, but no harm in asking, and I will.

I am told a work-around is to make your settings so that you subscribe to every thread you post in and then turn off notifications so you don't get flooded when people are commenting in threads you posted in.
Then when you hit "settings" every post that you have an update in will be displayed.
They will show new posts hi-lighted from the top down.

Bear in mind that you'll have to check your inbox manually, because you won't be getting notifications.

That is exactly the technique I use. It works well.

I think I know why you don't have it... the other forum uses http://www.simplemachines.org/ forum software which is free, where b&b uses https://www.vbulletin.com/... AS a user, I would say I thought both sites used the same software, there is only very small differences on the ui, I imagine the code could be swapped between each both programs although you might need some 3rd party converter or have a look on the simplemachines website, I think they have some forum converters on there already. I hope this helps!

The one draw back that I can see in this is that relying on that feature to follow a thread could mean missing out on discussions you are interested in. Others can reply to the thread, but not your individual post. So I always check back on threads that are marked as the ones I posted in.

One thing that might work here is to create a new thread sort order. Being able to sort threads by the ones that I posted in would reduce hunting for those threads.

Following the directions in Post #4 will get you to the threads you posted in already that have new posts in them.
Clicking on the New posts button, located under the home tab- will give you all new posts and threads with new posts in them.

If you use Search Single Content Type tab on the search page, you can do a search for your user name and then bookmark the results. This will enable you to see all the threads you have posted in by clicking on the bookmark, the latest threads to by replied to are at the top of the page.

I've never bookmarked the results, but this is the technique I use. It is the first thing I do when I visit B&B. I get to quickly check all the posts I have posted in and the onces with unread content are highlighted. After that I click on "New Posts" to check all the new posts.

It's 3 easy clicks to get the result at the bottom:

Any update on the possibility of this?

When I view the other site (a geeky mobile devices forum) 1st thing I do is press the "view replies to your posts" button then, once I have read / replied to posts, I press the view new posts button or just scroll through the forum to find anything interesting.

Yes and yes it does, I was just wondering if a 1 click version would be available. I browse this site normally on my phone so doing it that way can take a few minutes to do when I'm on my phone.

I'll bet that you can create the bookmark on your phone as well.

On the border above the original post is View First Unread. I would imagine that would take you to the first post made since your last visit.

been using that method for quite a while now. hit the the search, select Single Content, and my name is already populated as it's saved (using the save search preference button).

only thing i would like to see, is the ability to open SINGLE CONTENT TYPE as the default, instead of MULTIPLE, but i can live with it.
