This post reminds me I need to start carrying a pocket knife again. However, I want something smaller than the Recon 1 and Skeletool. I got my son a Griptilian that I am jealous of. I keep thinking about a smaller Spyderco but just haven't gotten around to it. I do feel more naked without one. lol I carried a pocket knife for many many years.
    Correction... Mine is a Recon-1.

I used to carry a Gerber multitool, bit was banned from wearing it to work. Supervisor thinks it's "unprofessional"

If my boss told me that carrying a knife is unprofessional, I would remind him that we are in the woods, and I'm a biologist.

I own many pocket knives and fixed blade knives, but my favorite to carry on a daily basis is my Cold Steel Voyager Tanto, Gunsite edition. I've had it for at least 8yrs and it's in as good as shape as it was on day one, with one exception...the Gunsite lettering is beginning to wear off. It's a larger folder, but no matter what I'm wearing (I wear suits most of the time) it's clipped to one of my pockets. I won't be without it.

I should clean up my knives an post some pics one day ;-)

I carry a 2nd generation Spyderco CO1P Worker. Has the flat slab sides (no bevel), no lanyard hole, and three screw clip.

Some really nice knives in this thread so far!
I always have a pocket knife with me, usually an Opinel 6 in my pocket and a #8 in my pack.
Also have a cheap Victorinox and a Uncle Henry that I switch out with the Opinel.

He's cool with knives, though he did raise an eyebrow when I brought in my original Rajah when we needed to clear some ivy.

He says the multitool is unprofessional. Would rather I lug around 50 pounds of tools on a tool bent 24/7 even though any given tool might be used once every 3 or 4 days.

To heck with that... I'm moving up to engineering in a few weeks.

I mostly carry a Case mini copperhead. My next most-carried knife is a Case small pen knife.

I typically don't carry a pocket knife, but lately when I do, it's a small swiss army type with cigar cutter ( http://www.amazon.com/Victorinox-Swi...y+cigar+cutter ) Needless to say, it's something I saw on BandB and had to have. When I rode on the subway I carried a machete.

    Fixed it for you

California state law is actually among the better laws in the country when it comes to knives.
The main thing is the switchblade ban, and no concealed carry of a fixed blade.

Beyond that... THIS is legal to carry concealed in California as long as it's folded:

SOG Flash II. Quick to deploy, light to carry, and an extremely sturdy locking system. Paired with a partially serrated blade, it does nearly everything I need.

Lagioule, I have an old one that I found (literally, FOUND) at work a ways back. Beautiful, hand filed spine with the Napoleonic bee. A flaw in the spring rusted through and snapped while I was in Basic. Before that I had a Spyderco Delica I carried until a model who was sharing my bed for a time decided she wanted it more. These days I carry a SOG Pentagon Elite folder (not the small one, it just looks silly in my hand) and their Field Pup resides in my TT UO pack. I just need to find a good knife sharpener locally. Sending it out is a hassle and relearning and purchasing stones just isn't practical for me these days.

I carry a Buck Lite pocket knife and a Leatherman Micro tool (in the sheath). I know the Micro tool is a multi tool...but it does have a knife blade. For outdoor activities such as fishing and hiking, I wear a Buck 119 in it's sheath.

Mainly the Leatherman my dad gave me on my 14th birthday (original Wave). Sometimes a Case Tiny Toothpick for cutting tape on boxes. I like the CV steel because it's so easy to bring back to sharp.
