Found this at a Dahl's supermarket in Iowa the other day, alongside VDH and Williams. Price was $1.79 and it includes a plastic travel case. First I ever heard of it, but after using it twice I can say it effortlessly makes a very good lather and has a much more pleasant scent than Williams. Is this strictly a regional product? I've never seen it mentioned on the boards, which seems odd given the amount of attention/discussion Williams provokes. Would welcome comments and observations.

Interesting. Billed as a brushless product, hyping the environmental side of soaps -- from their website, muellersshavebar.com where a video automatically starts.

Ingredients aren't bad. Looks like a good deal for under $2 at your supermarket.

nemo, thanks to your link I now have 4 pucks & 2 plastic containers on its way, only cost $11.99 with free shipping. No downside to it, if it's not shave-worthy I'll have extra shower soap and 2 Travel Containers.

I received my soap today and will test it in the morning, review to follow. BTW the puck weighs approximately 60 Grams and fits loosely in the Travel Container, the directions call for rubbing the puck on a wet face and building a lather with your fingers/hands, I will use a Badger Brush.

I tested the Mueller Shave Soap this morning, using it as a Shave Stick, I wet my Face and rubbed the puck directly on my whiskers. The soap adhered to my whiskers easily, leaving a white coating ear to ear, and upper lip to Adams Apple. The scent, to me, is a very subtle Barbershop/soapy scent that I found pleasant, I shook out the excess water from my Shavemac Finest @50/21 and began to "Face Lather".

I had a thin, creamy lather with no bubbles within 45 seconds and continued massaging the whiskers, approximately 90 seconds later, on the side I wasn't working with the brush, the lather began to disappear. I loaded the Brush ~30 seconds directly on the puck, and continued to build lather, at least attempted, and had a very thin, opaque coating. Rubbing my fingers on my face, the lather was thin but slick, so I decided to do the first pass. Using a Schick Hydro-Magic/ NOS Personna 74 Tungsten Injector w/ 15 previous shaves, I accomplished a WTG pass without irritation, skipping or tugging.

I attempted to use the remaining lather in the Brush for a second pass... Bad idea, a bit of irritation afterwards on my lower neck & under the chin. I think loading the brush again would have been a better alternative, but since this was a test... I didn't spare the water, and didn't take too much time finding a sweet spot since I was preparing to go to work, and since the slickness was acceptable I proceeded with the shave.

Overall I think it's a decent travel soap, don't expect a ton of Arko-like lather though it was fairly slick. The soap wasn't drying and left my face feeling comfortably moist, I think another turn with the soap, using my fingers/hands as directed will be accomplished tomorrow.

What's the update on this soap with the other application methods?

Using the recommended method, building lather with my fingers, gave me a coating similar to covering your face with a cleansing soap. It was a thin, creamy layer with good slickness, it didn't feel drying and left my face feeling moisturized.

The biggest negative was the difficulty of removing the whisker & soap residue, I normally swish my razor through the standing water in my sink. This wasn't enough to clean the blade gap, running water wasn't much better unless the spigot was opened to almost full pressure. I used a bit more water on the second pass, the lather was very thin and barely visible, I had enough slickness to complete an uneventful second pass and the Razor was cleaned with swishing in the water.

I haven't tried a third shave yet, I think I could thin out the lather further for the first pass, to the consistency of my second application above, it did seem slick enough though visibly it would be judged a poor/too thin lather made from a brush. I'll probably revisit this soap for my Friday evening shave, increasing my load time and water used to build a lather.

I tried a sample of this product.A sample that was generously provided by another member.

I did several face washes with the sink of warm water. Then lathered up.I applied the soap as a shave stick and built up a lather with an old Avon Brush.I hit the whiskers with a Superspeed and a 3 use derby.The lather was a bit thin but slick and gave a good glide,I did not experience the clogging effect that another poster did.The scent was not detectable as anything specific.I did three passes wtg.atg and j-hooking , I think it is called.I got a DFS with no irritation,not even around the throat-neck juncture which can be a bit sensitive on me.A nice shave,but not luxurious in the way of foam or scent,just a nice effective shave.This item would be better served in stick form.

I think it is a decent product ,although the print on the box is irritating,Tries a bit too hard to be hip.It just ends up being annoying-"i call all my friends FRONG"

I agree completely, decent product, but "FRONG" ?
