My grandfather gave me his Canon F1, which takes a mercury battery. I know they dont make them anymore. What are my options for replacing it if I want the light meter to work?

You can use a Wein Cell as a replacement or have the camera converted to use silver oxide batteries.

Racking the memory banks here. The mercury battery in the original F1 meter was 1.35 volts. They did make a replacement for it when mercury batteries where banned, but the replacement was 1.5V. This put the light meter out.
Edit: Just clicked on the links above. They look like your best option, other than metering by hand.
