When you consider that a mint condition first issue of the spiderman comic which came out in 1963, which cost only 10 cents at the time sells for somewhere in the vecinity of $40,000.00. And that a Superman first issue cost 10 cents and is now worth $350,000... you come to realize that this fatboy, at the price it's going for now, is actually quite competitively priced. I would actually put this on there as a real auction and watch it go for more if I were the seller.
A comic book, is written by writers, Drawn by an artist, Also is made of paper which is super difficult to keep NOS, and most were read and thrown out, and there arent millions of copies still around, Comic book Value is like a painting, Nothing like a Razor, IMO that is :o) no.offense to anyone.

I'm not saying you should, but I AM saying that there are people who would pay a lot of money for the item for sale. I think in the case of the one you linked, rarity itself would fetch a hefty price, likely in the thousands if you could get all the interested buyers out there in an auction room. BUT.

But, If you buy an ingot of gold that comes in a cardboard box, showing it off in its box has little value because it's the gold that people care about, not the box that it comes in. If you can't see the gold then the box might as well be empty or be full of sand and has little to no value until it's actually opened. In the case of the auction I don't see any reason to ever open it because it tells it's entire story without a need to do so.

Is this why we're not allowed to post live ebay auctions?

There's no offense. I would think however that the number of copies of first edition comic books around are about the same in number as the amount of fatboys in original packaging.

Or take for another example the mint condition star wars figures in their original packaging that sell for hundreds of dollars.

It's not the razor that matters in this case. At all.
What you're paying for here is the cardboard and plastic casing that still surrounds the plastic box and razor, and that is the valuable part, the item as a whole.

Personally I think they're on glue...it's still only a Fatboy, original packaging or not
