Default St. Charles Shave - Does it leave anyone else feeling "Sticky"?

I recently picked up some samples of various St. Charles Shave AS and ASB. (Lavender AS & ASB, Lime AS & ASB, Sandalwood AS, and Bay rum w/ a Twist ASB)

I've tried all but the Sandalwood so far, and the Lavender and Lime (AS & ASB) all leave me feeling sticky/tacky/etc. The Bay rum with a twist ASB doesn't as much, but still isn't nearly as "clean" feeling as the Baxter's ASB I've been using.

My question is: Does anyone else have the same experience? Everything I've read on SCS has been fantastic....did I get a bad batch, or maybe it doesn't agree with my skin?

Maybe I'll just stick with the Baxter's....it's a fantastic product in my experience and the scent really compliments the Kiss My Face lime cream I like to use.

It's been a while, but as I recall if I use too much it can be sticky. I usually applied it with wet hands and the problem went away. Either that, or reduce the amount used.

Had a small sample of the lime about a year back. Experienced the sticky feeling as well, and wrote the product off as useless to me. Hopefully others have had better luck with it, as it's a well respected product.

I use this ASB periodically and have experience same sticky feeling, but the balm is great.

I've never used SCS AS or ASB, but I experience the same thing with the highly acclaimed Castle Forbes ASB. I think that the answer with these types of balms is to use less product. Sometimes that's hard when you are trying different products every other day.... which is what I've been doing for the last few months.
