I'm always mad as hell when this happens as it helps to tarnish the reputation of the guys who are doing great things and keeping vintage razor alive for the next generation.

I hope things work out.....It took Huck months and at the end, he had to do finally buffing himself to get a razor that was acceptable. Good luck brother.....and in the future....use the search button here, ask questions, PM active members.....we are all here to help!!!!!!

I would think so. They'd just do the same process over again: remove old plating, re-plate.

There used to be a vid on their YouTube channel that showed their work area. They have removed it. Basically, it was a dingy basement with junk everywhere, and a young teenage cousin/brother/whatever working on the razors. The work order slips were just stacked on a workbench with no rhyme or reason, very unorganized.

Yes indeed, I've done quite a few!

I'll even admit that I've redone the odd one of my own - entirely free of charge of course. For every 100 or so replates, the odd one doesn't go according to plan - chemicals are like anything else, not a perfect science and I'm far from prefect myself :-).

No matter how well prepared, the plating just doesn't take to the metal for some reason - usually a chemical imbalance in the plating tank. It's a simple matter of removing and doing again though.

The problem arises when the plater responds with something like 'not my problem pal, or worse, doesn't respond at all'

Machine buffing off of old plating etc also removes metal, detailing, imprints etc and should be avoided. A final polish of silo doors or head before plating is fine, but not removal of old plating.

Thanks for the replies, trying now to get a refund through PayPal. Hasn't happened yet but was told they reversed the charge on the 15th. May have to take it up a notch. Also some good info to keep in mind. Will let you know what the end results were. Once again Thank You.

Look at which threads he has primarily posted in, and understand that he was posting from Tempe, Arizona, and you can probably figure out why.

Just an update as to what happened in the end. Finally got a full refund from PayPal minus the return postage of the razor returned. So I am out $6.50, but better that and learn a lesson then to be out a larger sum. And what's really sad is that it didn't have to be this way. I don't know if they are really dishonest, stupid or lazy...but it's a shame because they have such potential but have ruined their reputation through actions like this with their customers. Thank you everyone for your help and advice.

Glad it worked out for you. I've been out $37 for return shipping before from a bad purchase on eBay.

They've been banned for a while and I don't recall their website being mentioned all that often except in threads such as this one complaining about their service.

If someone invested half the time into doing a decent job for their customers as they did trying to sneak back in here and shill, these threads would probably decrease in numbers.
