    SiBurning,

And how that translates? Simply a smoother blade?

No idea! Look at the pictures. Maybe you can come up with a theory. The Feather is also a mess, and a lot of people say it's the sharpest. Maybe the jagged edge cuts better, but feels rough. Or maybe it doesn't.

The guy said he had tons of them, apparently they are very popular in the local market.

The SI's and Perma-Sharps are my favorite blades, and I have a large stock of both. However, for me, the Perma-Sharp edges out the SI for top spot - smoother, sharper and longer lasting. Get them while you can.

I have 400+ Perms in my blade locker. They are my inexpensive (poor man's SI), blue collar, get the job done blade. Yet not discussed very often.

Russian Perma-Sharps are in my top tier, along with Personna Med Preps and Labs, Gillette 7 O'Clock Permasharps (Indian Greens), Racers, and Treet carbon-steel blades. I like Russian Permas better than Super Iridiums; they seem sharper to me.

I think I agree. Maybe not dramatically sharper, but the Perma-sharp does seem to get more stuble on a pass than the SI.

I purchased 1000 on eBay from a Turkish vendor a couple of months ago (at the time, $2.50 cheaper per tuck than Bestshave.net). I rotate them with Gillette Yellows (made in the same factory) and Feathers. To me they're all excellent blades but each shaves differently.

I just made a google search for these and NO vendors came up. Where are you guys buying these blades?

Bestshave are based in Turkey and Connaught are in the UK but both ship to the US. I believe Connaught remove the VAT for buyers in the US so (if you follow the links) the price you'd pay is the price in the green brackets.

Right now, my top blades are Astra SP and Personna Supers. How would you rate the Perma-Sharps to these? Suggested vendors and prices?

Perma-Sharps are a great blade, much sharper and smoother than Astra SP's.

Got my Perma Sharps from Turkey today and used one in my Gillette Red Tip. Very Very nice blade. I find it comparable to the Super Iridium, and Astra SP, but still not as good as a Kai.

Connaught Shaving has increased to price on the Perma-Sharp, 22$/50 and 36$/100.
Best Shave and the Ebay sellers have them for about 11$/50 and 22$/100.

Shhhh, don't you know the vendors read the boards, that is why I talk in code, if I like something, I say it sucks.

Fortunately they are still $20 per tuck at Bestshave.net (an excellent vendor), or $1.15 for 5 blades, with free shipping on orders of $50+. Delivery takes 2-4 weeks to the U.S.
