I don't think it's at all fair for shaving shop owners to be going off on vacations like this and leaving us stranded, alone in our empty shave dens, unable to order stuff

Our dens are anything but empty! Not to say that there isn't room for just one more puck though!

See post #198 in this thread. It's a prototype razor & brush. Looks like a painted & undyed 1305.

    Thank you!

I saw that post, just haven't seen anything else on it. It said the razor was a prototype but the brush is IB by Semogue. I thought maybe it was in production or that there was more info somewhere.

This isn't going to turn into another, "It couldn't possibly be TFS in a Razorock container" product is it? It rocks guys, don't ask it to explain why it does!

Joe, for the uninitiated, how do pre-shave soaps compare to Proraso pre-shave?

    Many thanks,

    Hi Jeff,

Different people have different pre-shave needs. For me, pre-shave creams do a great job of softening the beard; many guys that have a thick course beard really appreciate this quality in Proraso pre-shave. Personally, I prefer 3P cream to Proraso pre-shave, just seems to work a bit better for my skin.

The pre-shave soap does a few different things... firstly, it cleanses, getting rid of grim, dead skin and clearing the face of excess sebum; secondly, it softens the beard, the fact that excess sebum is removed from the whiskers means softening takes places even quicker; thirdly, if you use your finger tips to massage the soap into the beard, you will help to lift and loosen the whiskers/stubble; fourthly, by leaving a lather of the pre-shave soap underneath your shaving cream/soap, it will add slickness to the skin and make the razor glide much easier.

For me, I will no longer shave without a pre-shave soap(whether I use another pre-shave treatment or not), since learning how to use it, my shaves have been super smooth and absolutely irritation-free.

Still pretty curious about that brush. Anybody got anything?

Really, not wondering "why it rocks" or who makes it (post pretty obviously said it was a Semogue)....I just see a Semogue brush made for Italian Barber but it's not for sale on the site and a google search turns up nada.
