    Default "Replating" a razor.

About 6 months ago I think I saw a thread about a DIY "replating" technique using a pyrex bowl and sheets of aluminium foil and a forgotten household chemical. I have spent 3 hours over the course of this week looking for it without success. If anyone still has it bookmarked or has a better memory than me, I would love to see it again.

You may be thinking of the trick used to clean silver plated razors, in which case the household chemical would be baking soda (and hot water). It will transfer sulfur from the silver tarnish to the aluminum foil, leaving the silver component behind.
