I won't go camping without a foam pad to sleep on - I think an air mattress is too much trouble, and not that comfortable. Roll-up foam pads insulate you from the ground (good in both hot/cold weather) and eliminate discomfort caused by that rock or stick that ALWAYS manages to get left under the tent when you set it up.
I cook most camp meals in a big cast-iron frying pan - its perfect for most meals, especially eggs/bacon breakfast and steak/fried potato suppers (My favorites!).

    Don't forget the toliet paper.

Lots of good advice..............The only problem I see is that you will be camping in FL. in the summer. it will be hot, at least take a fan with you. Good luck.......JR
If I had any idea I was going to live this long....................................

I use one of these which in all honesty is probably over-kill for my use. But if I ever go camping in winter it's great (im a cold sleeper) and it is super comfortable. Also that price is about twice what I paid.

Nice Tent! I too have a Kodiak canvas tent and I lover it! I also live down here in Florida and summertime is not for camping. Pretty much Oct. through April is okay weather wise. I've been to Anastasia Park on the east coast and Oscar Scherer Park on the west side of Florida. Both were very nice but I prefer Oscar Scherer for all the activities.
