Default The Body Shop shaving cream experience

Read a lot about that creams and it seems almost everybody likes it.
I was recently in a mall and bought one tube.
Got three shaves with it, but my experience not that great.
First of all I like the smell! I read reviews and a lot of people do not like the scent, as for me, I just adore it. As for lathering. When just started to prepare lather it generates tons of lather and very quickly. Unfortunately, on my face it dries out fast. Besides it settles down fast too, so I need to relather it again once I am ready for second and successive passes. Other creams I used, stay well whipped for whole shave. Oh, I figured, it needs more water as advised by some folks, but with more water it becomes thin and settle down even quicker. Go back to Tailor and Proraso. Did I say about great SMELL?
Probably the cream will go for sale or trade here once I will be qualified to post in "For sale".

    Default tried more water?

In my experiece, it is a pretty water-hungry cream. Have you tried a bit more water? There's not need to fear razor skipping, as I think the sesame oil with prevent that.

More water and more cream. For creams that seem like they dry out more, water seems to be the solution, but if your brush is adding too much air to the mix, it will be very hard to get a good ratio.

Try double the cream you used and more water and that should help.

Ok, I know this sounds crazy, but was it cold or warm in your bathroom when the cream was drying out?

Let say it was usual temperature, at least it was not different from the time when I used other creams, which work just fine.

I love this cream. I did not like the scent at first, but it grew on me. I scoop out a healthy dollop of cream with my C&E Tube-Roller-Key-Thing and use plenty of water. The first pass it is pretty thick but it does not dry out.

Try it a couple more times, play around with the water/creme ratio. Don't try to use as little creme as possible to get your passes done. I would rather wash three passes worth of lather down the drain than run out mid shave or have sub-standard lather.

Great point. It took me longer than it should have to figure this one out.

I shaved with it tonight (just couldn't wait till the AM). Check out my SOTD. The picture is after 4 passes and a touch up. It was moist slick lather, that did not dry out. It usually takes me 6-7 lathering sessions playing around with the ratio of product/water/water temp to get a nice lather going with a new cream/soap.

hmmm, i'd try adding more water if it's drying out too fast. i live in a dry climate and i find that it stays moist enough for the shave. though i only spend at max 15 minutes shaving after i have the lather mixed up.

I've noticed that TBS lather stays fluffy and dry until I've added abit of water and pumped the brush hard on the bottom of the bowl about a dozen times. That seems to force the air out and pull the lather together.

    My $.02 worth
