I think I have 20 full-size (21 if you count that 100 g Cella "sample" ) soaps and creams, five (six with Cella) I haven't tried yet. I'm not doing as bad as I thought.

I feel I have enough already at 15, 3 of which I haven't tried, because I'm on a no-spend June, and I bought them at the end of May, so I'm doing a Will-power test... ...

But people with too many perhaps need to focus on Superlathering, so that you get both a soap and a cream used in one shave...!

I'm still a novice - 3 soaps (GFT Limes, MdC and DRH Arlington), and 5 creams (GFT GFT, Almond, Eucris and Sandalwood, and C&E Nomad), plus a sample of DRH Marlborough. I am saving the sample to take on holiday with me later this week and the GFT GFT is the only product unopened. I want more but cannot justify it at the moment...

Even I make light of it. It's true! I prefer the term "subject matter expert"

You know I really think as I'm getting better and I'm consistently getting a nice close, irritation-free shave, my girlfriend has been getting a bit less irritated by my soap hoarding. A little less.

1 at the moment. I normally have just 1 and and its replacement on hand but haven't ordered the replacement yet. Given that the 1 on hand is a new 170g jar of MDC I won't need its replacement for quite some time.

Countless. Slowly working on it. It takes a while as I'm occasionally picking a new one to try out in between my current favorites.

I can't imagine trying to assess them like that but do what works for you. YMMV, as always.

Only a newbie has 'too much soap'. The rest of us understand that the problem is 'insufficient storage'.

FOr only DE shaving just over 6 months now, I have tried a lot of products, but now only really seem to use two: QCS Mysore Sandlewood cream and Trumpers Coconut cream. I have a couple Mama Bears soaps and a tube of C.O. Bigelow cream as well, but hardly use them these days since the performance from the QCS and Trumpers is unmatched. Everything else I either PIF'd or sold on the BST. I see no sense in holding onto stuff I on't use and can't stand clutter!

I've been fairly restrained so far, I have four creams (TOBS sandalwood, TOBS lemon and lime, TOBS Mr Taylor's and Proraso) and three soaps (QCS Vostok, TOBS sandalwood, and DRH Arlington). I think I prefer soaps, but my wife loves the scent of Mr Taylor's so that's one I'll definitely replace.

LMAO... this thread is a hoot...

I have been wet shaving since I was first cutting back the peach fuzz. I've always used williams (Don't laugh ) up till a year ago. So far I've found a bunch of samples I love but am having a hard time with more than the 5 jars to use. Old habits are hard to break and I guess I'm too frugal. That and I'm saving up for a big purchase. Maybe I'll pop over to BST and pick something up.

I've been really trying to cut down on the number. Finishing soaps before buying new ones, etc.

Right now, I have the following soaps in rotation:

    MW Lime
    RR Artisan Boston Tea Party
    RR La Famiglia "Cumba Cheech"

The following soaps in storage, not yet tried:
    RR La Famiglia "Don Marco"
    Haslinger seaweed

    I have small samples of:
    MW Coconut
    MW Lavender-Lime
    MW Coconut Verbena

    that I occasionally use.

    I'm down to two creams:
    Nancy Boy Signature
    KMF unscented

I plan on trying the untried soaps as soon as one of the other soaps or samples is used up. I may never buy another cream. KMF unscented is the only cream that I will always have on hand.
