The soap has been made! I'm happy with how it's turned out and look forward to being able to send everybody their little sample. Only 6 guys have contacted me with their address (and name, of course) and user name, so if you haven't done so yet and were one of the guys who signed up to be a tester and weren't chosen, please email me your information and I'll prepare the envelopes for when the soap is ready to be cut.

Does that mean I can start refreshing your site constantly waiting for the full pucks to become available?

I realize I may be really late on saying so but I would love to try a sample should there be any left available. If I am not able to get in on the sample test I look forward to picking some of this scent up once the final product is available.

Actually, I just sent out the first 11 samples to the guys who have provided me with their names, addresses and user names (to check against my list of people who took part in the thread before testing started). I'm still waiting on the others so if you haven't sent me your addy yet, please do. You'll have to email it to me at [email protected] because my pm box is not working yet. Hopefully, some people should get their samples today (I sent them last Thursday or Friday, I don't remember which) so we might get some reviews soon. This is the #2 version, which the greater number of testers preferred. I promise to get the soap wrapped and listed on the website in the next day or two. Thanks for bumping the thread - since I can't pm anybody, I have no way of reminding them to send me their mailing addresses. I hope folks see this because I hate to leave things undone!

My sample arrived yesterday, thanks!! Unfortunately I made the mistake of using a brand new knot and the badger funk mixed with the soap scent. I'll wait until I use it with a broken-in brush a couple of times before I give my input. Smelling directly from the sample, I love the scent.

My sample "arrived," too, but not really. There was a note from the Post Office saying that I could pick it up today. Criminy! So close and yet so far away.

And to make matters worse, my wife's car is in the shop, so she can't go pick it up for me. Looks like I won't have it until tomorrow at the soonest. <sad face>

Received my sample last night. Smells great. Used it for my shave this morning. It lathered up really easy and although the lather was thinner than I prefer, it performed great and gave a very nice shave. Really enjoyed the smell and performance. Great product. Thanks again for the sample. I will be ordering some soon.

I'm on my way to the Post Office now so anyone who ordered today should get it by the weekend. This was an exact replica of the #2 sample, although perhaps some very slight difference between the single puck and full batch size could occur because a few drops multiplied by a couple of dozen pucks adds up. What I think I'm hearing is maybe it could use just the tiniest tad more lemon? I can edge it in that direction the next time I make it...I want this one to be perfect! Keep me posted, ok?

I think it could use a tad bit more lemon, but I'm not sure that I speak for the collective.

I've now shaved with my sample three times. The performance is fantastic. It has the same effortless lather I've come to love with all of the other MW soaps. I've been on decongestants lately, which I think has tempered my sense of smell, but I find the scent balance to be perfect. Sometimes the rose hits me first, sometimes it's the lemon, and together it's wonderful.

I think you have a winnner, Michelle!

I just made a matching 20% shea butter soap with coconut milk and I adjusted the percentages a little to bring the lemon up just a bit. If I like the tweak tomorrow after I cut it, I'll keep it in mind the next time I make the shaving soap.

Well I got home to see my sample yesterday....

    Opened the bag.....

    Breathed in........

    Thought........"Man that's lot of rose"
Might be just me but I thought it needed a bit less rose, a bit more lemon. Or maybe I just don't like rose that much. Not sure yet.
Shaving with this tomorrow, so we'll soon see.

All I knows is this: If you do like a Rose scent, you are going to LOVE this.

    and the results are in....
Good thing I wasn't in the original testing group as discovered I'm just not a Rose fan. The scent is good, I personally think it needs more lemon and less rose, but I'm just not keen on the rose.
If I did like rose scent, I would love this. I can still smell it now. The lather of course was wonderful.

Thanks Michelle for the sample and the opportunity to try!
I will include the unused portion in the PIF that I've yet to package and send on to Omak....
