I'm not really a soap kind of guy, and this is kind of not a soap, but...
CF Lavender...
Bring on the flames, but I've only ever had 1 or 2 acceptable shaves with it. Lather is thin and evaporative, and even when it's worked I get a mild reaction to the lavender EO. Fantastically authentic lavender scent (whole suburb knows when I'm using it) but only worthwhile if you like that "freshly sandpapered" look...
For me it would have to be the Swedish goat milk shaving soap I bought. Luckily it was really cheap so no money lost really but still a disappointment!
Otherwise I would have to say Mama Bears unfortunately. The soaps make great lather but they're too strongly scented for me so they burn a little on my skin and I get a headache from the overpowering scent. I will do as someone recommended and leave them open for a while so they maybe lose some of the scent and see if it makes them better for me, otherwise they'll go up on the BST.
Mystic Water, Herban Cowboy, and some Artisan Soap I picked up from eBay. These are the only items I've ever thrown away.

Herban Cowboy hands down. I thought it was my technique as I've tried different brushes from Boars to Badgers and even Horse. Lather created is airy and bubbly and soon dissipates.
To me it will be my first soap ever. The Col. Conk Lime. The lather is thin and unprotective, but it's th escent that really gets to me. It actually makes me nauseous.
Just because I'm a punk it doesn't mean I want a bad shave! Member of the B.O.T.O.C.
Mystic Water..didn't like the scent and the lather was way to thin for me.

I could understand why a few people might be dissapointed with Mitchell's, maybe due to the price, or the hype, but picking on Arko....its just wrong.![]()

No matter how bad I feel in myself I always feel better after a shave; my daily act of defiance.
Classic Brand from classicshaving.com. I've never seen a sample disappear so fast. And when I say disappear, the soap didn't even make it to my face. The sample couldn't even handle a simple bowl lathering.
Any flavor by Musgo. MWF is a fine shave, but I can't stand the stuff.
Herban Cowboy.
This was the first soap I tried...and tried....and tried....until I tossed it away. I
mpossible to make this soap lather....boar didn't work...badger didn't work...warm water didn't work...cold water didn't work....hard water didn't work...distilled water didn't work....well, you get the idea.
Col. Conk Lime; awful. Totally turned me off to anything Conk.

Cyril B. Salter's Shaving Soap. Not the creams, the soap. To be more specific, the refills for $6 a pop at WCS. This is the worst stuff I have ever used. Weak lather (if you could call it that) ever! Not slick at all and absolutely no protection. I thought I was going to exsanguanate in my sink when I was done!
Oh, and yes, I was the one that wrote that horrible review of it on WCS's site! And damn proud of it!

Valobra Almond: made a great lather and produced a burning sensation that resulted in a rash.
Pro Shave Shaving Cream--had the same effect as trying to shave with hand cream; useless.
Since my original post and having tried a few others -
Worst soaps as far as performance goes, my vote for worst would be Blenheim Bouquet - expensive and even worse than the awful Herban Cowboy. How Penhaligons who supposedly pride themselves on quality can be happy to offer such a terrible product astounds me, the Erasmic bowl soap is awful too.
Worst soap as far as irritation goes - Coates Tea Tree and Rosemary, thankfully consigned to history.
Worse soap as far as scent - Arko
We don't get Caswell Massey, Williams and Lightfoot in the UK and as they aren't rated well it seems like a waste of money getting them to try so never tested.
Soaps some people don't seem to get on with such as Spanish Fig, and Scottish Fine I have no trouble with but we have really good water here.
Sadly I would have to say the Musgo Real shave soap that was released earlier this year. Worse lather than modern Williams.
