I am glad to hear she is doing better! I had some of the same issues with my dog, around the skin problems. It turns out he was allergic to grain in his food. Once I got him on a grain free food, we used Wellness CORE, everything cleared up nicely. He was a much happier doggie !

    Just an update:

    Angie is doing great.

After a very long month it was determined that her underperforming Thyroid gland caused the swelling in her brain. Through meds and care Angie is about 90% and is almost completly off treatment. She has lost about 18 much needed pounds an is no longer overweight. She runs and plays just like she used to, and is a very happy dog again. She beat some very difficult odds. GME is almost a completly fatal disease.

I have to thank everyone for their prayers and concerns. I would also like to say that I have taken things for granted in the past and I now know how important the little things in life are.

I would also like to thank the staff at Palm Beach Vet Specialists for their care and treatment for Angie.

    Thanks Everyone
    Joe from South Florida.

Oh, this is good news. I love dogs. I am glad you had the money for her care. Unfortunately, a lot of people love their dogs just as much as you an me but simply don't have thousands of dollars to spend on treatments which saddens me. I am glad you were able to get her good care and it sounds like you made a really smart decision taking her to a different vet.

jcbor00, I'm very glad that your dog, Angie, is doing better. The world needs great dog owners such as yourself.

My dog passed away about two months ago from lymphoma, despite chemo treatment, and every day is hard without him so I understand your initial concern. I wish you and Angie a lifetime of happiness.
Please don't tempt me to buy anymore.

That is wonderful news. I'm glad to here that Angie is nearing %100 healthiness.

I emphatically echo the comments regarding dog food. My dog is a happy healthy little dude who is almost twelve years old now. We have fed him Orijen brand food for many years and I highly recommend getting a sample of Orijen for Angie to see if she takes to it and whether her energy and health improve.

Good dog food is, of course, pricier than the standard stuff . . . but of all the things to spend $ on, it seems to me that your best buddy and doggy-comrade deserves what the extra $30-40 can buy. I heartily suggest trying out some of the dog food with better ingredients than the conventional stuff. Of course some dog owners think this is insane. etc. etc. YMMV.

Here's a pic of our little dog:

I was actually able to finance the entire bill. 0% for 12 months. Bill topped $5k. I'm just glad my friend is getting better. I know I am very fortunate to have that option.
