I carry a small rhodia or clairfontaine staple bound notebook in my shirt pocket. When I am not wearing a shirt with a pocket, I will toss a fields notes in my back pocket.

Always carry a spiral notepad in my pocket for work, have for many years.
However, while looking around at the Goulet's I purchased a Rhodia #11 pad holder and #11 notepads (along with some other stuff )
They look so much better than the cheap spiral notepad I have been carrying around, and with the pad holder I am sure it will last much longer too.

I work 3rd shift as phone support. We rarely get phone calls on 3rd shift, so I have plenty of time for reading. I can keep an eye on the big server board to make sure that everything is running, and as long as nothing crashes, then I can do what ever I wish. I love this job. A dream come true.

I have a Tumi jotter that was given to me as a gift years ago that I use 3x5 note cards in. Can't imagine not getting through a day without it.

I am dreaming of one of these:
    http://edcforums.com/threads/my-sadd...otebook.90907/

Would love to have my notes in one like it.
I am a note-junkie and usually use cheap lined china journals in A5 size, so I am looking for a good cover that will hold one of those + a pen and possibly have a pocket for pages, ads or whatever.
I try to set myself second.

I don't get out often anymore since my job allows me to work from home. But when I commuted to work I carried Field Notes notebooks with me everywhere I went.

They're small enough, rugged enough (for me), and work well enough that I could slip it in my back pocket and forget about it until I needed it.

I used to carry field notes, but now I like the Clairefontaine Life Unplugged Roadbook. Here it is today with my B&B Herald Grande

I carry this one. It is a Moleskin Cahire with a leather cover I made out of the waste leather from strops.

I usually carry an Oxford Black & Red notebook around to keep notes in.

I have a lovely Rhodia notebook that I have used to keep a diary for some time, they have wonderful paper.

    Very nice Legion.

How have you attached the leather to the notebook?

There is a very thin thong of kangaroo leather that is attached to the cover, and runs up the centre of the notebook. That way it is easy enough to slip out and replace the notebook when it is full.

I have been carrying a Cahire for the last 5 years or so, but they always get dog-eared and fall apart long before I run out of pages.

With a simple cover like you made, it would protect the book, provide a little storage for receipts and credit cards, and add a nice touch of class to my constant companion.

    Thanks for the idea!
