I used to practice using a Chinese weapon called the 流星錘 (Liu Xing Chui).. killer core exercise as you have to keep tensing alternating muscles along your core to brace against the momentum of the weapon. Boxing workout on the heavy bag works pretty well, too.

Hatchet chops with either a low or high pulley work well in the gym for me..

    Pick up baby.
Rock side to side while doing a lap of the house.
Reach over crib side to lay baby down.
    Walk to door.
Return to crying baby and pick up again.

Do 4-5 sets every 3 hours all night.

To add a challenge make sure the crib side is high enough that you need to fully extend arms to get her over top of it.
To add more resistance, keep feeding the baby.

Plank holds are great for your core----hits abs and lower back all at once. Hold strict form as long as you can. 1 rep.

I'm a little concerned that the weight would not increase fast enough to make real progress-------by the time I'd get up to a weight that's really a workout (even if I had the 'equipment' right now!), I'd be ready for the retirement community and my 'weight' may be embarrassed to continue the workouts! Therefore, I will probably have to stick with traditional iron and steel weights for now!
