Hey guys, please help me identify and date this razor! No date code, so I looked at B&B's dating page. It says that blades were dated prior to 1950, the blade in it is an R1 blade, so Im assuming 1st quarter of 1943. In doing more research, it sounds like this is a Milord. Is that right? Please help!

    It's not a Milord it's a gold-coloured British Rocket.

There's a picture of one on Mr Razor's website: http://www.mr-razor.com/Rasierer/One...ket%20Gold.JPG

And the blade is from 1971, the R date before that was 1946.

There's a really good article on them and how to identify them here:

the Rocket is the british Super-Speed but with solid handle and the gap between knob and handle. The gold Rocket is rare - congratulations to this find!

Rare indeed. Even more rare to find one with it's gold plating in such fine condition! Congrats!

Wow, thanks for the input guys! I didn't realize it was that rare. Walked into a local antique shop and got it for $12!

Now that I know this, I'm wrestling with whether or not to use it, or just have it sit in a collection.
