Personna 74* and Schick Plus Platinum blades!

Yesterday, I made a little stop in a small Texas town and just happened upon a few finds. I was able to pick up a 1956 Super Speed Razor nice condition, and a 1961 Gillette Fatboy Razor G2 code in good condition. They both were $5 bucks a piece so I made the purchase. While I was looking I also found a unopened package of Personna 74* Tungsten Steel Razor Blades a pack of 5 blades and an unopened package of Schick Plus Platinum Blades with Teflon coating. Both of the outer packaging are not in great shape. The Personna 74* are in a Red cardboard package with Personna in white Lettering and 74* in Silver. The Schick are in a Yellow Package with Plus Platinum written in white lettering contained in a small blue background. Now I have heard good things about the 74* but I know nothing on the Schick DE blades. They also had another Schick blade package that was similar, but instead of the blue background it was red. I paid $1 for each and the Schick was also just 5 blades. Not really sure what I should do with them leave them in the package or use them. I will see. Talking to the Gentleman behind the counter he said he had a whole draw full of these type blades at home. I said bring them up here to sell and he said he would. So you do realize that I will have to keep this location a secrete until I have had a chance to look at all these blades. Try to post a pic but my computer will not recognize the card when I insert it into the slot. Light comes on but nothing.

Let just say the good man have 100 P74 at home, it is worth about 400$ on ebay.

I just could not do that as I even told the Gentleman that there was a lot of value for old time shaving gear and razor blades. He told me son I probably spent less then $3 for those blades your buying and all the ones I have unused in that drawer back home. The Schick Blades with the small red background were Schick Super Chromium blades. I have no idea if he has a drawer full of 74* blades he just said he had a drawer full of old unused DE blades back at his house.

Sweet find. Use them otherwise you'll not likely ever find out the legend behind those blades. Money you can always get. Rare usable P74 at that, sealed?

Blades from that era are extraordinary. Buy them and shave with them. The P74's are acknowledged as about the best blades ever produced, and many guys here favor the Schick Plus Platinums. Certainly stock up for your own needs.

I just have the one 5 blade pack that is still in the old package with the blades in a red cardboard box instead of the later ones with clear plastic. I guess if your a traditional shaver then you owe it to yourself if possible to at least try these blades if so many others consider them to be one of the best ever to be made.
