    Default Newbie..Allentown PA

    Hello everyone,
Glad to be here. Have been shaving for 3 weeks with the Merkur travel razor and loving it. Baxter Shaving Cream and ASB are incredible. Contemplating my next purchase for Father's Day. 75% probability it'll be the Futur. Close seconds are the Tradere and PILS.

Any recommendations for on-line vendors? Also, what are the best brick-and-mortar stores in PA/NY/NJ? I'm looking for a broad selection of aftershaves, creams, etc., and am willing to travel.

    Thanks!
    Dave

Welcome to B&B. I tried the Futur and found it to be a little too aggressive and too slippery. I ended up with a Merkur Progress instead. Something to think about, but lot of guys swear by the Futurs too. Enjoy!

I forgot to add that I've been lurking for about a week and have you all to thank for bringing my shaving knowledge and confidence up to speed in a very short time! Although still a long way to go...

    Welcome to B&B.

Online is going to be your best selection but there is no substitute for a brick and mortar store to sample AS and EDC scents.

If you do decide to get a Futur you should go over my Futur hints before using it.

Futur is a great razor but a little quirky

Hi and welcome! Let us know which one you end up choosing, I'm sorta deciding between the Futur and Progress myself

    Hey Dave, welcome to B&B.

I would recommend QEDusa.com as an online vendor. They are located in Rhode Island and have a good selection of products. It's also were I made my first acquisition from.
As far as local places go, I don't know. I did spend some time living in Allentown a few years back though.

Welcome Dave. Interesting screen name. Does it have anything to do with the F-14 Tomcat?
