Anyone know how good they are about getting stuff out quickly. I know, I probably should have asked before ordering, but I really needed 8 more ounces of Squadron Leader![]()

They seemed pretty fast for me, but now I am plagued with what seems like two of their spam emails per day AND a snail mail spam mailer from them.
This over advertising is making me regret my purchase through their company.

Have you tried this?
You can also go to their "Update my account" tab and uncheck "Receive special offers from Pipes & Cigars.com"
I've had good luck with them & their pricing is usually very good. No issues with mailings or emails from them other than their newsletter and specials, which I signed up for.

Thanks Miles and mountain. I have never ordered bulk, so I am excited to see how much 8 oz really is.
Thanks for the pointers, gents. I will give it a shot. It would be a shame to avoid them, as they seem to be a well supplied and smoothly operated company.

Life is infinitely stranger than anything which the mind of man could invent.
8oz of pipe tobacco is a good supply. When you order that much, I highly recommend putting it in a brand new mazon style jar with a new lid to ensure a tight seal. This will let it cure over time as you smoke it so it will only get better the closer you get to the bottom :)

It usually works, with anyone reputable anyway. I have been trying to cut down on the amount of junk email that I get so I have gotten pretty quick at finding out how to opt out of all of that, um, stuff. On the other hand, I never click even an "unsubscribe" link in any email that looks remotely sketchy out of concern that it is a phishing mail, or worse. I have received some really convincing-looking scam emails from Amazon, Bank of America & others.

I order from them all the time and have never had a problem.
One time an item I ordered was not in stock (showed in stock on the web) and within 12 hours I had an email apologizing and asking if I wanted to wait (they didn't yet have a delivery date) or order something else.
I changed the order and it shipped that afternoon.
Contrast that to 2nd Street. I ordered a Lotus lighter from them.
They have a "brick and mortar" about 40 miles from me.
2 weeks later I still had no item AND no email.
I emailed asking about the order.
2 days later I got a response... Out of stock, no expected receipt date, it will ship when they receive it.
I cancelled and ordered from P&C.
One thing I like is that P&C does something similar to West Coast Shaving... if something is out of stock, you can mark it to notify you when it is available. Used that on Two Friends Chocolate and a couple of other items.
On the spam... 2 per day is a bit of an exaggeration. I might get 4 a week from them. The snail-mail ads come about as often as my Cabelas ads... once a month or less.
Last one in the mail was a NICE catalog of pipes and gave SWMBO some cool ideas for an anniversary present.

I like the idea of a paper catalogue- browsing still is a bit easier with paper. I have a question on jarring tobacco- should you fill the jar fully, or leave a little air room?
To be fair to the company in question, when going back through to unsubscribe (also something I rarely do because of unscrupulous companies) it was noted that two different companies were sending me the emails, so you are entirely correct. Multiple sources of emails from companies with "pipes" in the name caused me to generalize all that I saw, but it's better to be accurate with criticism. FWIW I fully intend to do business with both companies providing my email traffic slows down a bit :D

They're good blokes - I buy from them about monthly. If I ever get to Albany, NY, I really must drop in. Can't speak for US shipping, but it's 10-14 days to Australia
I've never received any emails from them except order confirmations and shipping notices. I feel left out...
My go to site for tobacco since I started. Nothing but good things to say about them.
I think they are great. One time I ordered some tobacco that they said was in stock, but it actually wasn't. They called me on the phone to see what I wanted to do. Great customer service!!
"Gentlemen, you may smoke"
I've done several orders with them over the past few months and they have become my go to place. Their selection is good, prices are good, and Priority Mail shipping gets from NY to TX in 2 business days like clockwork. They also do free UPS shipping on orders over $100, although I hate UPS because it's 5 business days vs. 2 for Priority Mail... worth the extra $10 to me but I'm impatient like that.
Also, if you haven't tried any Russ Ouellette's blends, you're really missing out.
They were extremely slow with me...by about 2 weeks. And screwed up my order on top of that. Selection is good but doesn't mean a thing if they can't get it right.
They are my go to place as well and one of the main reasons - first class mail as an option for small orders! I absolutely will not do business with a company that wants me to pay $8 to $10 flat for usps priority or UPS/FedEX especially if I only want to order 1oz of bulk tobacco or one 50 gram tin which I do quite frequently.
I look forward to their email specials each week to be honest and don't recall ever seeing more than 2 in one week, most times I only get 1 per week usually on Monday or Tuesday.
I'm also a fan of Russ Ouellette's blends myself!
