    Default Mixing Italian Soft Soaps

I have a brick of P.160 and a Brick of Vitos (green) that I am thinking about combining. I prefer Cella. It seems to me that Vitos makes a thinner lather than Cella, and P.160 makes a thicker lather. I thought that combining them might give the balance that I like. It seemed to work in a small quantity, so I'm wondering how best to do it on a larger quantity. Maybe 2 or 4 oz of each. Has anybody done anything like this with Italian soft soaps? What is the best way to mix them? I don't think they will melt with heat, but I could probably just cut them together like pastry.

FWIW I think both P.160 and Vitos smell too strongly of Almond compared to Cella, but I can live with that.

Why not fill your container with a half circle of each side by side... this way each swirl of your brush would be half p.160 and half vitos, but the finished lather on your brush would be 100% awesome.

(I initially heard this idea from a gent who wanted a half and half Mystic Water soap, and I've been impressed by it ever since!)

Take a circular container, fill one half-circle with P.160 and the other half with Vitos. While loading, your brush will load from both.

    Nice guys finish last.

I've never heard of anyone here in Italy mixing soft soaps. This is something that I would not do.

I've mixed them on the fly. For example, I'll scoop out a dab of Cella and a dab of RazoRock and mix them up in the same bowl. I can't recall which combos I've tried (I have too many Italian soaps to keep track of) but I do remember that nothing particularly special happened. Some combos actually turned out worse than either of the soaps that were used to make the monster mash. Seriously, spend your time, energy and soap more wisely. I've already wasted mine for you.

We tend to mix it up in the US. :)
Although I think I agree with you, I like to let a soap stand (or fall) on its own.

i mixed up some RR samples and QCS samples with great success.

the base was Napoleans Violet, then i added some MdB, QCS Old Spice Type, Hanami and it's beautiful. it was a way to use up a whack of smaller portions in 1 swoop. scent turned out great, performance is great and post shave feel is great.

no harm in trying. it may work, it may not.

    1. Sell P.160 & Vitos on the BST.
    2. Buy Cella.

    Problem solved.

Great idea. I always end up throwing out the last bit of my samples if I don't have enough for a decent whack of lather.

I have found that RR Fresco, and Proraso are two soaps that can be combined well with not only other Italian soft soaps, but many shave soaps or creams. The Fresco has a light water mint scent which works well with so many other fragrances especially the Don Marco , Cumba Cheech , Cella, and Mike's Natural Lime Shave Soap. The same can be said for Proraso but it does have Eucalyptus which to me is a stronger fragrance than the Fresco with Water mint. I have and love QCS Vostok shave Cream, but it tends to dominate any combination because it is one of the strongest menthol shaving cream that I have tried.

That is Plan B. Except I don't need more Cella yet. I've got a brick of it also.

How about Plan C: Send P.160 and Vitos bricks to me and use the Cella. I will make sure the P.160 and Vitos get used up.
