Default First sahve with a Super Iridium

Loaded it up in my trusty EJ89 and lathered up with some TOBS cream. Shave was one of the closest I've gotten, but I can't say the blade was smooth. Didn't tug, but there was noticeable resistance as I cut through my beard.

Others have commented that these blades are smooth. What might I be doing wrong or should I consider using this in combination with another razor? This just might be a case where YMMV. Then again, it was a first go and the experience can always get better.

That's one blade I've always wanted to try out, but never have. I look forward to reading further reviews of them.

I use Super Iridiums almost exclusively in my EJ89. Would say that there is a little tugging on the first shave, then again at about the seventh and last shave for the blade. Not a lot, just a little; certainly less than a Feather on its first shave. Excellent on the inbetween shaves!

Thanks, skipped shaving today (in part, because of the closeness of yesterday's shave), but I'm looking forward to the next time......and the next.

Shave #2 this morning. As John suggested, the tugging noticeably diminished and the shave was still as close as the first. No nicks, no irritation. Now if we can only get them to start manufacturing again.

Shave #3 will be Monday morning. After that we enter unexplored territory since I always pitch other blades after the third shave, but plan on extending these as long as possible.

I find that these blades are among my top performers in several razors. Nice smooth shaves and blade longevity make them a favorite.

Shave #3, a three-day growth. Shave was so smooth I lost concentration for a moment and took a chunk out of my chin. My fault, but, otherwise, another great shave. Now it becomes an endurance test. How far does this blade go beyond my normal three shaves?

I'm also using an Iridium Super for the first time. I've got 10 shaves on it so far, and it's still going strong, though I'm currently taking a break from DE and using my Injector razor for the rest of the week. Come Sunday I'll go back to the Iridium to see just how far this blade will go.

After the first 10 shaves, I can say that this blade ranks right up there with my favorite, the Voskhod. I've never tried to push the Voskhod to see how many shaves I can get from one (I normally switch after 3 shaves) but I can't imagine it would go this long.

My first shave was just a little tuggy, but not uncomfortable. Smooth sailing on shaves 2 through 7. Shave 8 was a noticeable drop in performance...but still acceptable...and I thought it was done but kept going and Shave 9 & 10 were right back up there with the best of them.

It will be interesting to see how far I can take this blade.
