Summer of Gentlemanly Restraint

I've been DE shaving for the past three months or so. Over this period of time, I've acquired near a dozen razors, acquired half a dozen soaps and an equal number of creams (although I've PIFed a number of them away), six brushes, and a handful of various aftershaves. Presently, I'm waiting on the delivery of three more soaps, two more aftershaves, and a smattering of new blades. Clearly I've got plenty of shave gear.

In an attempt to reign in my ADs, I'm imposing a self mandated Summer of Gentlemanly Restraint. Beginning June 1, 2012 and continuing through August 31, 2012, I will purchase no shave products. No new razors. No new soaps. No new creams. No new aftershaves. No new blades. No new brushes. As much as it pains me, I will use only what is in my den (or en route for delivery to my den) until September 1, 2012. So help me God.

MWF is definitely one of my favorites! I can't go a week without breaking it out. And it's not like I'll be suffering this summer. Between the MWF, Red Proraso, CF Cedar and Sandalwood, Tabac, GFT Limes, GFT Coconut cream, RR Original and Cocao. Not to mention the GFT Sandalwood, Penhaligon's English Fern, and Bronnely Cream that's on the way...now you see why said restraint is necessary!!!

I think I need to spend some time selling on BST!

I love how these ADs develop.

I've got plans to sit down with SWMBO in the next day or two and sort through what soaps/creams that I can't shave without and she thinks smells divine. Then, I'm selling the rest on BST. I've got to do the same with razors. I think one three piece, one adjustable, one OC, and one straight. And I think everything else is getting sold.

I'm in. I posted elsewhere (Judicious June) but I made a personal pledge to make no purchases from June 1 until September 1. My only caveats are that I have already agreed to participate in a couple of splits for fragrances that have yet to fill. I'm committed to participating in those and won't back out but I also won't sign up for or host any splits from June 1 until September 1.

Great idea! But no reason for time to pass slowly. Come on over to the Nib or the Speakeasy. Or the Cafe. Lots to talk about there. Then there's the Clubhouse too.

I know me either, I have 1 and 5 on the way and I haven't even shaved with a straight yet either :S
So I will probably keep 6/6 hopefully and that is it. I can probably reduce my DE list now that I my exact needs laid out and what I use often

Maybe clean up a few DE then I should be good to go. At least have me setup all summer

I've been putting this order off for about a week because I felt like I have to many soaps in the den. In the spirit of this thread, I will postpone my purchase until the end of the summer.
